Community Highlights: Meet Alicia Collazo of InCrowdSurfing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia Collazo.

Hi Alicia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2022, I started my business in social media management and graphic design. I’ve always loved art and design. So, when I was given the opportunity to combine my true passion with my job, I jumped at the chance! My aim is to help other small businesses or solopreneurs grow their communities through social media.

Through my research and the knowledge of other professionals in my field, I’ve grown my skills as a social media manager and graphic designer. My main goal is to eventually help local businesses in the Houston area grow their reach through curated content online. I love my city and am excited to be a part of its growth!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a full-time mom and chronic illness sufferer, the road has definitely not been a smooth one. Starting a business has had a lot of ups and downs. The days can be especially hard when dealing with pain from my chronic illness. I try to be balanced with my work and take the needed rest on bad days. But I never give up!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
InCrowdSurfing is a Houston-based Social Media Management company. I help solo entrepreneurs and service-based companies grow their businesses through social media. I am known for providing social media management services like content strategy, content creation/graphic design, scheduling, competitor analysis, and more.

I’m proud that my brand has been able to provide confidence in social media to many small business owners like myself. Social media can feel very daunting to new business owners who have never used it in a professional sense. It always warms my heart knowing I’ve made that learning process easier for many!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned so far is to show up to glow up. What does that mean? If I want my business to grow, I need to make sure I’m showing up for myself, my clients, and my community. There is no such thing as an instant success, but success can be had through steady consistent growth.
