Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyse Seawright
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a young African American woman, I started my journey in the beauty industry by working out of my grandmothers home, in Robbins, IL located in the outskirts of Chicago. Despite where and how I started I’ve always been career driven, and determined to get to the next level in my life. As my Clientele continued to expand, I obtained my cosmetology license from Capri beauty college in 2015. As time elapsed my passion for hair flourished and I found more ways to learn and grow, I was able to work in one of the most high traffic hair salons in the south suburbs area in Midlothian IL. I built my hair empire and taught myself how to perfect my hair artistry until I excelled to a 6 figure hairstylist. In 2018 I launched my own product line, and I was given the opportunity to put my product in large beauty supply stores throughout the south suburban areas of Chicago, and then eventually my product launched on Walmart platform. I then ventured out and progressed a love for teaching new hairstyles for up coming hairstylist and cosmetologist students. As the year of 2020 approached, I instructed my first hair class and eventually continued to host classes throughout my career. I honorably took on the role of leadership and opened up salon suites in October of 2022. I’am now a serial entrepreneur and I provide mentorship and digital ebooks classes to other individuals in the hair industry that are looking to expand, open up their own businesses and learn my hair techniques.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Growth is never an easy process, in fact it comes with discipline, consistency, and pure dedication. There is no easy way to get to the top and you can never just arrive to your destination, as I always say “stay small enough long enough, and you’ll be big enough soon enough”. When I first started my career, some of the struggles I encountered was not having financial funds to support my career. I Stepped out on faith, with no clientele and no 9-5 well paying job, hearing the word ” “NO” only made me want success more. Some of the other struggles was building a consistent clientele. However, consistency, and hard work is what got me through the process and also having faith in myself and GOD. I knew I was destined for greatness and I was born to be an entrepreneur, I just had a plan to execute, anytime I went into a new growth sprout and started a new business endeavor I always kept in mind that whatever my business is it must be an answer to someone else’s problem.
As you know, we’re big fans of Alyse Marie Salon & Suites . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
In Oct of 2022 I opened my own salon suites, I rent my space to individuals in the hair and beauty industry, helping 13 hairstylist grow and build a large clientele. I’am also still a full-time hairstylist and mentor, while providing digital classes teaching my hair techniques. When I started, my specialty was cutting short bobs but as the years progressed I’ve mastered many different hair styles as well. I’m most known for my sleek precise ponytails, and my luxurious curls. Throughout my career I have developed my craft, what set me apart from others is my performance and how swiftly I complete each style while still providing great quality and long lasting work. I take pride in all aspects of my brand, because it is a representation of myself. As a cosmetologist I provide high quality hairstyles, my product line is great for all hair textures that provides a 24hr hold, my upscale salon suites are available for anyone in the beauty industry. I provide 1 one 1 mentorships and digital classes.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I believe that most individuals have hidden gifts and talents. A lot people may not know that I love to sing. Growing up my grandmother made sure I attended church every Sunday and was a member of the church choir. In my adult life I still love to sing to express myself through various songs.
