Community Highlights: Meet Amanda Schonberg of Baking For Business

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Schonberg.

Amanda Schonberg

Hi Amanda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my business by simply wanting to fulfill a need to help and inspire my community. So many bakers are passionate about wanting to grow their business, however, they usually lack the business acumen to see real increase within their efforts.

I created my online school to close the gap between bakers operating as a hobby business owner to becoming a more profitable business owner. The Baking For Business platform offers recipes, tips, courses, and resources aimed at helping home bakers build thriving local brands within their communities

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I first started my business, I did so with a business partner. While it was a great journey and learning period, I realized it no longer served me. After building my first membership program, I walked away from a nearly 5-year partnership and let that person have it. I don’t have any regrets because I believe life is a series of tests. That experience allowed me to have a testimony. I now generate more revenue on my own than I ever did with my partner in all those years combined. I have joy now when I work in my business, and I am able to do the things that light me up. I wish that person well, however, when I left it did feel awkward. I was worried if my students would understand and follow me on my new path.

Most did, some didn’t, and that’s ok. My happiness is not contingent on other people’s understanding. I did what was best for me and have no regrets.

When you are use to having someone in this industry to talk to, however, at times entrepreneurship can seem lonely when making tough decisions on your own. So, I got a new business partner, Jesus.

I pray, talk, and lean on him for growth and understanding. I operate now with a growth mindset and a spirit of discernment because I now realize much more clearly that I am the child of a king. I no longer play small or care about others’ opinions. I go for every opportunity that comes my way because I know that abundance is my birthright. The visions he gives me do not require validation from others, so I operate in his will.

I show up with a willingness to serve my students in the best way possible and rely on my faith in him to be the only partner I need. So many more doors have opened for me than I could have ever dreamed of. It feels wonderful knowing that someone real has my back. He hasn’t failed me yet.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Baking For Business?
As a bakery business coach, my job is to teach my students how to properly market and operate their business with success. I am extremely big on getting results and pushing my students to think outside of the box and tap into their full potential.

What I believe sets me apart from others is that I don’t teach anything that I have not accomplished myself. Every blessing that God has given me, I share it with others.

What I am most proud of is all the many accomplishments that my students achieve once they join one of my programs.

Getting to witness hard-working moms leave their job, provide a future for their children, find a new passion, and gain confidence is more than I can ever ask for.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was always goofy. I loved to read, and I loved good food. I am still the same to this day. Some things will never change.
