Hi Amenta, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
WildFlower Forest began because conventional cosmetics and deodorants were causing reactions that affected my health. I still wanted a personal scent, but not at the expense of how I felt.
So I began making botanical fragrances for myself—something I could wear comfortably and use in place of conventional deodorant.
Then something unexpected happened. People would stop me in public and ask what I was wearing. Soon, they began asking me to create fragrances for them.
Those requests led me deeper into herbs, botanical materials, perfumery, scent composition, and formulation. I wanted to understand what each ingredient contributed, how the materials worked together, and how to create fragrances with their own character rather than versions of scents that already existed.
Over time, I began exploring plants through flavor as well as aroma. The same botanical can reveal one character in a perfume and another in a cup of tea. That connection became WildFlower Forest, a Fragrance Tea House creating original botanical perfumes and herbal teas.
Today, we make our botanical perfumes and herbal tea blends in small batches for people who care about what is in the products they wear and drink—not only how those products smell or taste. Every formula is created with a specific purpose, a distinct scent or flavor identity, and clear information about the ingredients behind it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. One of my biggest challenges was sourcing consistent, high-quality raw materials.
When I first began formulating, I happened to find an excellent supplier. Later, that supplier changed where some of its materials came from, and I noticed changes in both quality and price. Because the same ingredient name did not always mean the same material, I could not simply replace one product with another and expect the fragrance to perform the same way.
That experience sent me on a two-to-three-year journey into raw-material sourcing. I learned how to evaluate botanical materials for myself, distinguish genuinely natural ingredients from materials merely marketed or labeled as natural, understand the role of aroma chemicals, and recognize how a material’s source, format, and processing can affect its scent and performance.
The biggest lesson was that a formulation is only as reliable as the materials behind it. That knowledge now shapes how WildFlower Forest sources ingredients and creates consistent, small-batch botanical perfumes.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is running through a one-acre field of sunflowers on my grandmother’s property. The field was surrounded by honeysuckle and rose bushes, so everywhere I turned there was color, fragrance, and something growing.
As a child, it felt like I could disappear into that field and still feel completely at home. That memory gave me an early sense of connection to nature that has stayed with me throughout my life.
