Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Eddings.
Hi Andrew, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m an undergraduate student attending Trinity University, where I major in neuroscience and prepare to go to medical school after college.
From the day I first got my license, I’ve been obsessed with cars. I love how there’s space for all kinds of different subsects, cultures, and ways to enjoy cars. Autocross, JDM, classic American muscle, European exotics, off-roaders, tuners, track monsters. As diverse a group us car enthusiasts are, we are united in our passion. I’ve made so many friends and memories at car meets, working on projects with friends, and at the racetrack.
I believe every car has a story, and I treat each one with the same meticulous care I would give a patient. Whether it’s a Bugatti Chiron or a Toyota Corolla, I ensure your car receives the care it deserves.
Those hard-to-reach small cracks, crevices, and hidden details that corporate washes overlook are exactly where I focus. My science background enables me to know exactly what the chemicals I use are doing and help me make sure your prized possession is safe and clean.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting over the fear of failure and actually starting was one of the hardest parts. As a college student with little wealth to my name, it truly took a leap of faith to invest in my own idea and buy quality equipment and products. Unfortunately, I had to put my services on hold until my spring semester of classes and labs ends (in San Antonio) as it’s been incredibly demanding. Since starting the business, I receive anywhere from 5 to 10 spam calls a day from telemarketers either impersonating services like Google or Yelp, or promising to land my business on the front page for a hefty sum of money. I’ve tried setting my phone to screen for such calls, but nothing seems to work.
Detailing is extremely satisfying, but the initial vacuuming steps usually have me crawling into tight spots and getting bad back pain. Also the Texas heat can be brutal. But all in all, I love what I do, and I love seeing the fruits of my labor when the customer reacts to their car, swearing it looks newer than the day they bought it.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Fortune favors the bold. So often we unknowingly walk right past the opportunity of a lifetime or miss the chance to brighten someone’s day. I try to be more aware in my day to day life and take notice and seize such opportunities: complimenting someone, going out of my way to help a stranger, introducing myself and meeting people at car meets and social gatherings. We never know how long our time on Earth will be, so take some time to appreciate what you have worked for and been blessed with.
