Today we’d like to introduce you to Andreza Lanzarote
Hi Andreza, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was eighteen years old when I started in Belo Horizonte close to my hometown of Para de Minas, Brazil. I began as a manicurist and worked my way up to learn about skin care. My love for learning in the industry grew as I developed a passion for coloring and cutting hair. In 2005 I had the opportunity to take courses to advance my career in Andalucia and Madrid, Spain. This is where I met my husband. I then returned to Brazil to apply my learning, nevertheless, I got married and established my family in Cypress, Texas. I yearned to return to my love for hairdressing and soon began researching information on licenses needed to become a hairdresser in Texas. I worked for different hair salons from 2012-2016, studying and brushing up on my skills. Finally, on March 8, 2017, International Women’s Day, I opened the doors to Andreza Lanzarote Salon & Spa. It was the most exciting day of my life to accomplish this with the support of my family.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I saved every penny I had to pay for the courses I took in Spain and then saved up again with my husband in order to come live in the United States. Things were not easy as documents had to be waited on to obtain visas for entry here. When we arrived in Cypress, the challenge of making friends, establishing connections, and learning a new culture proved difficult. My husband’s family and my faith in God helped me continue pursuing my goal to obtain my own salon. Great sacrifices had to be made financially to afford a location that was big enough and close to home. After accomplishing this goal, the road led me to set different goals that would build my business. Everyday I work at maintaining an effective team that executes the salon’s vision, find ways to improve client relations, and provide excellent services while I balance being a mother and wife at home.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Andreza Lanzarote Salon & Spa?
Our services include Brazilian Keratin, men and women’s haircuts, as well as color specialists. We also have a manicurist, an esthetician, and a massage therapist. I think what sets us apart is the culture and diversity of our staff and clients. Exceptional customer service includes a welcoming smile and great first impression. The client is our priority and always gets a five star experience. We offer tea, coffee, champagne, water, or wine with a treat to start. We listen to what they want and work with them to achieve their goals. I am proud to have the opportunity to work with so many beautiful and diverse individuals. We speak three different languages in the salon.
How do you think about happiness?
Seeing my salon full of clients smiling, talking, relaxing, and having a great time in turn makes me very happy. I know this means I have fulfilled my role as an exceptional hairdresser, however, I will continue to strive for more.
