Community Highlights: Meet Aracely Leal of Dulce Antojo Mini Pancakes & More

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aracely Leal.

Hi Aracely, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey with Dulce Antojo – Mini Pancakes & More started with a simple idea and a love for creating memorable experiences for others. What began as a small dream quickly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I started Dulce Antojo with the goal of bringing something fun, beautiful, and unique to celebrations in the Houston area. I wanted our snack carts to be more than just food—I wanted them to become part of the experience, something guests would remember after the event was over.

Like any small business, the journey has come with a lot of learning, long days, sacrifices, and challenges behind the scenes. I’ve had to learn everything from customer service and event planning to marketing, designing, pricing, managing a team, and constantly finding new ways to improve the business. There have definitely been moments that tested me, but every challenge has helped me grow as both a business owner and a person.

Over time, Dulce Antojo has expanded from our original services that was Mini pancakes & Fresas con crema into a variety of customized snack carts, including, paletas, elotes, ramen, sundaes, churros , mangonadas, and more. We’ve had the opportunity to be part of birthdays, quinceañeras, weddings, baby showers, corporate events, school events, and so many special celebrations.

One of the things I’m most proud of is seeing how much the business has grown through the support of our clients, social media community, referrals, and returning customers. Every booking, recommendation, message, and person who shares our work has played a part in our story.

As Dulce Antojo celebrates its first year, I look back and feel incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come in such a short amount of time. What started as an idea has become a growing brand that I’m extremely passionate about. I’m still learning, still dreaming bigger, and still working toward the next chapter. My goal is to continue growing Dulce Antojo while always keeping the creativity, quality, attention to detail, and love that helped build it from the beginning.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up comes with a lot of challenges that people don’t always see behind the scenes. There have been long days, late nights, stressful moments, last-minute changes, cancellations, staffing challenges, and times when I’ve had to figure things out as I went.

One of the biggest struggles has been learning how to balance everything at once. As a business owner, you wear so many different hats. I’m not only handling the events themselves, but also communicating with clients, creating designs, preparing supplies, managing bookings, marketing on social media, coordinating my team, and making sure every detail comes together the way I envisioned it.

Another challenge has been learning to set boundaries and stand firm in my business policies. In the beginning, you want to make everyone happy, but I’ve learned that protecting your time, your work, and the value of your services is extremely important.

There have also been moments of doubt and exhaustion, especially during busy seasons, but those experiences have made me stronger and taught me so much about patience, leadership, and perseverance. Every challenge has pushed me to improve and become more confident as a business owner.

Even through the difficult moments, seeing our clients happy, watching the business grow, and knowing that people trust Dulce Antojo to be part of their special celebrations makes all of the hard work worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of Dulce Antojo Mini Pancakes & More. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Dulce Antojo – Mini Pancakes & More is a Houston-based snack cart business specializing in customized dessert and savory snack experiences for birthdays, quinceañeras, weddings, baby showers, corporate events, school events, and other special celebrations.

What truly sets us apart is the level of personalization we put into every single event. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all setup. We customize our carts to match each client’s theme, colors, business branding, logo, or character inspiration. From the banners and menus to stickers, balloons, umbrellas, florals, and other decorative details, we work hard to make the entire setup feel like it was created specifically for that event.

Quinceañeras have become one of my favorite types of events to design because there is so much personality and creativity involved. Every quinceañera has her own vision, colors, and style, and I love being able to bring that into our carts. One detail that has really become special to our brand is incorporating florals onto the front of the carts. It adds such a beautiful, elegant touch and completely transforms the setup. Seeing the quinceañera’s reaction when she sees everything personalized to match her special day is always one of the best parts.

We offer a variety of snack cart services, including mini pancakes, paletas, elotes, ramen, sundaes, fresas con crema, mangonadas, churro sundaes, and more. While the food is an important part of what we do, I want people to know that Dulce Antojo is really about creating an experience. I want our carts to become part of the décor, part of the celebration, and something guests remember.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how recognizable Dulce Antojo has become through our attention to detail and presentation. I’ve worked hard to create a brand that feels fun, feminine, polished, and professional while still allowing every event to have its own unique personality. I’m proud that clients trust us with important milestones and that many of them choose us because they know we will go beyond simply showing up and serving food.

At the end of the day, I want readers to know that Dulce Antojo is built around creativity, customization, and making people feel special. Every event matters to us, whether it’s an intimate birthday or a large corporate celebration, and our goal is always to create something beautiful, memorable, and completely personalized for our client.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating something meaningful—not only for myself and my business, but for the people who trust Dulce Antojo to be part of some of the most important moments in their lives.

Family, growth, and making people feel special are at the center of everything I do. I’ve learned that success isn’t only about how many events we book or how much the business grows. It’s also about the relationships we build, the memories we help create, and the feeling a client has when they see everything come together exactly how they imagined it.

I care deeply about the details because I know these celebrations are important. Whether it’s a quinceañera, wedding, birthday, baby shower, or corporate event, someone has trusted us with a special moment, and I never want to take that for granted.

It also matters to me that I continue growing as a business owner and creating opportunities for the future. I want Dulce Antojo to keep evolving while staying true to what made people fall in love with the brand in the first place—creativity, personalization, quality, and genuine care.

At the end of the day, what matters most is being proud of what I’m building, making my family proud, and knowing that something I started as a dream is now bringing joy to other people’s celebrations.
