Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Wade Cline.
Hi Ashley, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We moved to The Woodlands in 2016 after living in Fort Worth since 2010. I grew up in The Woodlands since 1994 & had moved all over since I graduated at ORHS in 2004. My husband wanted to leave Fort Worth, and we decided to make The Woodlands our home. We arrived about a year before Harvey. My husband had worked in painting on and off since he was 18, and also in kitchens. He started working in kitchens again due to being able to transfer from Fort Worth, but then Harvey hit. There was a lot of painting work after Harvey, and we thought it was the best route to go. He was excelling at his job working for a local contractor, but the owner wasn’t recognizing his hard work and didn’t always provide consistent work. We decided enough was enough and started our own company. Monroe Painting Company was born. We started posting on local Facebook neighborhood groups, and that was where we got our first job in Alden Bridge. Word spread like fire about our detailed and thorough work and work ethic. I haven’t had to spend very much money in Marketing, Facebook, and networking has provided so much work for us today.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Owning your own business is never a smooth road. I’m so grateful though for where we are today. We’re able to make our own schedule for the most part. We’re able to spend time with family which is amazing as working in the corporate/restaurant world we always had to miss holidays or rush home to work early the next day. We’ve learned from previous mistakes and continue to grow as a company.

We are a husband/wife-owned painting company. We started Monroe Painting in 2017. We were tired of working meaningless jobs and wanted to be able to work our own schedule. It was our first time owning our own company, and it came with a lot of learning; still learning to this day. We wanted to set ourselves apart from other painting companies by providing an excellent & attention to detail product. We offer interior and exterior painting, drywall services, and wood refinishing. We specialize specifically in cabinet painting. We spray the doors off-site and use an HVLP sprayer for cabinets to provide an ultra-fine finish. It took us a couple years to perfect our process, but we have it down to a T now. We’re very proud the product we deliver to our clients. We just started offering a new paint product to clients for their cabinets. We’re one of the few painters who offer it in the area. We’re really excited about it & can’t wait to show everyone. We will be offering Renner Wood Coatings to clients who are interested in a very high end finish on their cabinets. We love documenting everything on social media and with our clients every step of the way; I think that is one thing that sets us apart as well.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success isn’t measured by money or wealth. For me personally is waking up each day and knowing I’m giving my 100% each day for my clients.
