Today, we’d like to introduce you to Austin Potts.

Austin Potts

Hi Austin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey to heal my body and mind from the deep pain I was carrying began nearly a decade ago.

I spent years as a functioning drug addict, only knowing one way to cope with my pain, numbing it out. I now find myself in such an incredible place, where I’ve remembered how to love myself so deeply and continue to unfold deeper layers of feeling and enthusiasm for my life.

My business is a reflection of this, and truly means at its deepest roots healing through actions. My passion has been spreading my experience of healing and creating a business that supports these ideals. For me, the things that have truly transformed my body and mind have been my diet, my physical habits, and my emotional habits. Instead of numbing myself, I allow myself to feel exactly what is in my heart right now.

Instead of consuming ultra-processed sugar-packed foods all the time, I replaced them with fresh whole foods as close to their natural source as possible.

Instead of isolating myself and sitting the majority of the day, I got out into nature and spent more time walking, playing, and doing yoga. On my path towards health and wellness and just my love for nature, I’ve learned many things. One is that consuming fresh foods picked straight from the plant is among the best of the best foods for you, and it feels so good to pick something that you guided and protected all the way from seed to harvest for yourself and your family.

The main obstacle I discovered to growing your own food, is having enough plant food to begin with. Through composting our organic matter waste, which can be up to %50 of what we are throwing away, we may continually fuel our gardens to abundantly feed ourselves! Naturally, I came to the conclusion that composting is necessary for my goals, and I realized the incredible amount of organic matter being sent to landfills and not being utilized.

Thus, KarmaPharma was born, a community composting movement that returns high-quality compost to its members and promotes holistic health and wellness for all who are interested.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, no, my road has not been smooth at all. I’ve had many challenges and obstacles on my path to where I am today. I was expelled from high school twice, and after that happened, I isolated myself so much and went into a downward spiral of punishing myself for being and doing wrong.

My social skills devolved, and I became a degenerate hermit. By the time I was 20 years old, I felt so bad in my body from sitting all the time and filling my mind with self-hate that I knew there could be nowhere else to go but back upward. So I began clawing my way back up the hole I dug myself into, and let me tell you, it felt painfully slow in the beginning. It’s been ten years of choosing to believe I deserve something better, and what a sweet destination my path has led me to!

I now have remembered my own innate power to move emotions through me with ease, and realized my pain before was an accumulation of unfelt emotions. I had quite literally backed myself up emotionally to capacity and felt nothing but anger and resentment most of the time. So, one extreme obstacle I have overcome is being stuck in a thought loop of hating myself and believing my crazy illusions that no one wants me around and that I’m not worth going after what I want.

I believe the bigger the obstacle and struggle before you, the bigger the personal reward when you persevere and feel your way through with so much trust. This is one of the gifts my emotional wellness coaching delivers!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about KarmaPharma?
KarmaPharma is a company that uses holistic healing as its purpose. The main function of my business is organic matter recycling and returning high-quality compost to my members. My community members fill up their containers, either 5-gallon buckets for residential or 35-gallon barrels for commercial, and I come to swap them for a clean one either weekly, every other week, or monthly.

As a member, you will have access to a certain amount of compost back per month to fuel your garden. Another part of my business is creating personalized yoga routines for people. Yoga is a time-tested and proven system of practices for balancing, strengthening, lengthening, improving, and ultimately healing your body on all levels.

The newest addition to my business now is men’s emotional wellness coaching, which has positively changed my life completely for the better! I have a system of tools with which I lead either one-on-one or group sessions. These tools work for both men and women, but I mainly work with men one-on-one. However, group sessions are open to both.

The tools are meant to give people back the power of controlling their emotions, which typically exert so much control over us until we remember we are the ones in control. I love the tools so much because they’re so simple, and mastery over my emotions has improved my life in many areas, as well as my overall enthusiasm and love for life.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
The main thing that that time period did for me was just solidify my beliefs of how important your health is.
