Today we’d like to introduce you to Bill-bradley Anyanwu.
Bill-bradley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, I think since birth, I’ve always been the kid that challenged the repetitive nature of life. Taking on new hobbies and learning hard things always intrigued me. I have also always been surrounded by business. My dad, uncle, everyone was doing business. I started off before college learning photography, and the first thing I did was make an instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. Then I started learning graphic design and the basics. Then I went to college and learned computer science to an intermediate level. While in college, It was December break, the one that turned into a 2-year pandemic. I started researching on purely the material I needed to know to become a digital marketer, like I said, I like challenges so I took it personal, but it’s hard to self-motivate yourself when you’re starting, no one believes in you and you’re telling everyone hey look, but no one’s listening. My friend Joshua coincidentally was trying to start his own digital marketing company as well. My company was called Blackwebb Consulting. His was solvent solutions, and we combined it into “Blacksolvent”. I made the logo and we were in business. It was fun working with Josh but when we went back to school, things kinda fell out, in Lubbock I was marketing for the local clubs, podcasts shows and YouTubers, and learning the basics, but that’s how you learn. Juggling multiple roles was the development that I needed to be where I am at Today. I came back to Houston and I honestly think every client I get is divinely sent to me because there’s always a story to it. It’s never just a transaction. I’m literally helping people push their dreams.. and it’s fun. Constant learning still, I’m still an infant but so far, so good.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been everything but smooth. This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But it’s the easiest at the same. Balancing college and having a business was hard, trusting your intuition that whatever your doing is working wasn’t necessarily “hard “ but was a struggle. Whoever’s listening, it’s okay to be different in a world where everyone’s the same, learning to look at the world from a business standpoint instead of a consumer standpoint is a day-to-day concept I still struggle with. I feel like every opportunity is presented in front of you and based on your decision, you make your reality. So it’s important to mind what you think. Making business decisions is still hard, you have to know when to pivot and where to go and why you’re going there if you’re thinking about longevity. Blacksolvent isn’t the next factory, we’re in the community all over the world, learning and constantly doing research for new ways to help people grow their businesses.
We’ve been impressed with Blacksolvent, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Blacksolvent is a digital marketing and IT consulting Agency, we consult for businesses who want to grow their business locally or online. We don’t have a “specialization “ that’s so limiting. Why can’t we be good at everything? That’s what sets us apart, we don’t sell a service, we design campaigns. Each month is different. There’s a new holiday or promotional trend every month. I feel like marketing keeps the life in the business, your employees get to see themselves and that keeps them engaged so those are your clients and family. But more importantly, new customers can’t see your work as well. I want everyone to know that Blacksolvent is about impact. Not only will we show you how to market your business, but we will also teach you as well.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Living in Nigeria for high school in a boarding school wasn’t my favorite but most impactful. It was interesting, to say the least.
