Community Highlights: Meet Brandye Johnson-Batiste of Speech Solutions 4 All

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandye Johnson-Batiste.

Hi Brandye, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I moved to Houston, TX in 2007 by ways of Baton Rouge, LA. After completing my second Master’s degree in the area of Special Education-Speech Language Pathology. I began working in the schools as an SLP in Fort Bend ISD providing speech therapy services at the elementary level. I also worked PRN at skilled nursing facilities providing speech therapy services (swallowing and cognitive deficits) to the geriatric population. Let’s just say I fell in love with both settings and populations, so I couldn’t just choose one to work with!  I later left the school districts after completing my clinical fellowship(internship) and became employed full-time in the SNFs. I ran across an opportunity to see kids via home health and started doing home health part-time,after I would leave the SNF in the afternoons. I continued to do home health on the side for 2-3 years. After working for a home health company, I began to do my own research on how I could start my own company providing speech therapy services to clients as a sole proprietor. Once I gained some of the knowledge needed and built up the confidence to start up the business, I did just that. I started Therapeutic Solutions 101 in 2010 and started seeing kids where I was the provider. The business name had to be changed much later during the journey because another company had a similar name. My business name was changed to Speech Solutions 4 All, LLC. As time passed, I continued working full-time in the SNFs for 11 more years as an SLP/Director of Rehabilitation while working my speech therapy business on the side. It got to the point where I needed more flexibility to be there for my children and husband, and most importantly, I needed a peace of mind because I was running like a chicken with my head cut off. It was that very moment in December 2021, I officially resigned from my Director of Rehab position and pursued my dreams of becoming a Fulltime Private Practice owner of Speech Solutions 4 All, LLC in 2022. It was a rough road, but I made it, and would not trade it for anything in the world. Our business has tremendously grown within the past couple of months and we expect to see it grow even more in the next couple of months.  Currently, we are providing services in the homes, daycares, and schools. With a staff of 3 SLPAs and 3 SLPs. We will be opening our very first Brick and Mortar in the Summer 2023 and we are truly excited!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has not been obstacle free to say the least. I have had some amazing days where I feel successful and I have had some days where I just want to throw in the towel. However, giving up is not an option for me because I am always down for a challenge to expand my knowledge and achieve my goals.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Our business is a privately owned speech therapy practice founded by a Speech Language Pathologist with a Special Education teaching background of 5 years and an SLP background with 16 years of experience working in schools, SNFs, VA, and home health. We provide speech therapy services to both pediatrics and geriatrics. We specialize in Swallowing disorders, Feeding, Speech/language disorders, and Augmentative Alternative Communication. Our company believes in finding a communication solution to assist everyone, regardless of age, in finding their voice to communicate with others. We strive to empower our clients to build their self-confidence in order to be exceptional communicators in all settings. Our brand is steadily growing by leaps and bounds, as we are now contracting with both private and public school settings.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness for me is spending time with my three children-Noelle, Noah, & Nyla, and my husband-Jimmie. Simply because they are my everything and the reason I continue to strive to do my best in all areas of my life. My family is ‘My Why’!
