Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittni Castilaw.
Hi Brittni, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I launched Backstage Digital in 2017 with the sole purpose of driving actual digital marketing results for our clients. However, my story began much further back than that. After graduating Lamar University in Beaumont, TX I moved to Houston, TX to pursue a career in Marketing, specifically digital marketing. I worked for brands like Singapore Airlines, leading energy companies, marketing agencies and media licensing agencies. I had set my goals to become a CMO in my 30’s and was well on my way at the start of my career.
At 24 years old, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Everything around me took a sudden pause and the realization of my career hung in the unknown. It was likely that the corner office would possibly be out of reach in the time frame I had set for myself, however, I never thought entrepreneurship was in my future.
As I continued to ride the wave of my upward career, I began to realize the need for balance in my personal life, as well as my career. I love everything there is about marketing, working hard, and seeing results.
In 2017, I was faced with the opportunity to leave my career and position as the Director of Marketing for the unknown. It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make in my career and looking back, it is something that stretched me further beyond what I could have imagined.
I dove in headfirst and founded Backstage Digital in June of 2017. Over the last 5 years, Backstage Digital has become a leader in generating actual results for our clients. We are a boutique agency headquartered in The Woodlands, TX.
We specialize in lead generation for our clients and work with international oil and gas companies, plastic surgeons, med spas, commercial real estate developers, and many more.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As an entrepreneur, we know that challenges can arise at every possible moment. I am a firm believer it is best to plan for challenges to push through them successfully.
Covid was a challenge for our business, it affected our clients, our employees, our timelines and everything in between. We live by the statement “it isn’t about if a crisis will happen, it is when”. As a business owner, the processes and procedures I have instilled within Backstage Digital allows us to face challenges to the best of our ability.
