Community Highlights: Meet Claire Faichney of Bluebonnet Health and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Faichney

Hi Claire, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I knew I wanted to be a nurse since high school. Despite becoming a single mom at the age of 16, I continued high school and took part in the Health Science Technologies program offered by Katy ISD. This was a 2 year program that surveyed a wide array of careers in the healthcare industry. I went on to attend Houston Baptist University (now Houston Christian) and earned my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. After graduating, I completed an RN residency program with Memorial Hermann Southwest in their Neonatal ICU department and then spent the next 3 years serving as a staff nurse. I was working nights and living with my dad. As thankful as I was for all the support from my family in taking care of my son during school and night shifts, I was ready for a change. I became a school nurse for an elementary school in Katy ISD and was able to bring my son to work with me! It was amazing, but let me tell you-school nursing is NOT for the faint of heart. You have a tremendous amount of responsibility and autonomy, without all the resources at hand like in a hospital or facility. After a couple years at the elementary, I had the opportunity to move to my high school alma mater, James E. Taylor, and serve as their school nurse. I’ve been here since 2019.

I’ve always worked “side jobs,” as many nurses do, between urgent cares, the hospital, and an infusion/wellness studio. I started researching into vitamin supplementation and the benefits they offer. If you look into the research, it truly is amazing to learn how much vitamins and amino acids can affect such a vast number of health conditions and symptoms. I became so impassioned to help people in this way, that in 2023 I reached out to a company called Moxie and founded Bluebonnet Health and Wellness.

At Bluebonnet Health and Wellness, we listen to our clients stories. Many men and women have incredible health journeys that include victories and set backs. The entirety of that journey plays a role in where they are currently, and how we help them get to where they want to be. The healthcare industry has become increasingly transactional and cold. I wanted to create a space for clients to feel comfortable being vulnerable in their health struggles and confident in allowing us to serve them. It is a business that has grown out of our caring for others. I hope to see it continue growing!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
“If He sees you to it, He’ll see you through it.” I believe the perception of how smooth or rough the road has been is in the eye of the beholder. Nursing school was hard. Being a single mom was very hard. By 2023 when I was forming Bluebonnet, I was married, had a 3 year old and 15 year old, and still working full time. IT IS HARD! But women are capable of doing hard things. I will always credit God and my family’s support in getting me where I am today. There have been sleepless nights, tears, and questioning myself if I really did have what it takes to get Bluebonnet up and running. There are still days I ask myself if this is “real life.” And it is! And I hope it continues to be for many many years to come.

We’ve been impressed with Bluebonnet Health and Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bluebonnet Health and Wellness offers IV hydration, vitamin injections, botox, chemical peels, weight loss injections, and health counseling. We blend Eastern and Western medicine practices to create this really beautiful way of meeting clients’ health goals as naturally as possible.

With our vitamin injections and IVs, it’s so much more than the “hangover cure.” We can address concerns including low libido, perimenopause, autoimmune diseases, fatigue, infertility, athletic performance, antiaging and more. We also use high quality, bioavailable formulations of vitamins.

We use Xeomin botox which has no additives, reducing the risk of clients forming antibodies and reacting poorly. We’re experienced in cosmetic botox to migraine, TMJ, bruxism, and tension injections.

We use chemical peels that are more gentle and require no down time.

With our weight loss program, we use only a reputable USA based pharmacy for our semaglutide and tirzepatide. We counsel our clients on diet and exercise. We celebrate non-scale victories and focus on health rather than just a number on the scale.

At Bluebonnet, we view health as a journey. Sometimes it’s smooth sailing down the highway of making healthy choices to reach a goal. There’s going to be stops for margaritas with the girls, fun trips with delicious meals. There could be total road blocks of taking care of sick loved ones, or receiving a cancer diagnosis. Or there may be complete U-turns of becoming sober, or finally finding self-worth and a desire to invest in health. The nurses at Bluebonnet are here to walk alongside you as you navigate your personal health journey.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I treasure mentorship! I have found older/wiser mentors in my personal and professional spheres since I was a teenager and truly believe everyone needs a solid mentor. They need to align with your morals, maybe even religion if that plays a big part in your life/how you conduct business. However, you do not want your “mentor” to be just a cheerleader. When I talked to my nursing mentor (who was a seasoned school nurse) about going into school nursing, she lovingly told me I might not be ready for it yet. And y’all, she was right, but also I don’t know if you can ever truly be ready for the craziness of school nursing!

When I first started Bluebonnet, there were a lot of cautions to essentially not trust anyone in a similar business, be careful of hiring nurses that may want to steal your business, view everyone as competition, ect… And that has just never been my vibe. Even back in my nursing school days, our graduating class had a slogan of “we love each other,” and we truly did! Working night shifts, we always helped each other too. My best advice is be you, genuinely, and don’t be afraid to let people into your world. Your intuition will help you figure out who is trustworthy.

While I love mentoring other nurses interested in branching into this industry, I’m an introverted extrovert. I haven’t branched into the networking scene- it’s a little daunting to me. But I love talking to people and I’ve found when you’re willing to connect with people, a lot of other connections can organically flow from that. So if you aren’t into the “Katy Moms Networking Night,” same lol, let’s go grab some apps and chit chat instead! We can give each other the courage to step into the networking scene!
