Community Highlights: Meet Dara Wise of Tribe All Therapies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dara Wise.

Hi Dara , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We come from water and we’re sustained by it. That belief has truly shaped the trajectory of my life. Over 10 years ago, during my college internship, I worked in heated therapy pools and had the privilege of helping people with paralysis regain function. Witnessing someone walk again was life-changing and set me on this path.

I am the co-founder of Tribe ALL Therapies, which curates intimate aquatic experiences in private heated pools around Houston, heated to 98 degrees, mostly salt water, intentionally skin temperature. We work with modalities like Watsu, a blend of water and shiatsu, and Water Dance, an underwater, three-dimensional experience where the body moves in ways impossible on land.

This work is deeply intimate. Touch was our first language as children. When anything was wrong, we were held, and yet many of us have lost that connection. Water holds incredible healing power, and I’ve made it my mission to be a forever student of this work, training across the United States and internationally. My goal is to share these experiences so people can feel the benefits for pain relief, mobility, cognitive function, and spiritual and physical alignment

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges has been creating a culture around the healing properties of water. Many people fear water, do not see themselves reflected in this work, or do not understand how it can be used for therapy and its many benefits. On top of that, the logistics are not simple. Finding private pools heated to skin temperature, mostly salt water, with the right environment is no small task. We are almost like Goldilocks with venues.

But we believe in flow, not force. Water always finds a way, and even the smallest current has the power to break down rock. When we hear feedback, when people say this is unlike anything they have ever experienced, or feel immediate shifts in their body, it makes it all worth it. Truly, we could not pour from an empty cup doing this work.

As you know, we’re big fans of Tribe All Therapies. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What we are most proud of is when people tell us they felt safe. Safe in the environments we intentionally create and safe within our care. They are held throughout the entire experience. Many come with fear of water or hesitation to be vulnerable, and seeing them fully let go is powerful. In today’s current state, what a privilege.

The relief people experience spans a wide spectrum from severe anxiety and depression to chronic pain, sciatica, or the tension of a professional athlete pushing their body to the limit. Water meets you where you are and supports the body and nervous system in regulating in ways that aren’t possible on land.

We’ve shared this work around the world with people from all walks of life. Now in Houston, we call you back to the tribe. In a world that tells you to keep it all together, we offer a place where you can let go through private and intentional experiences with heated saltwater pools, fresh fruit, fresh juice, and warm towels. A space where you can feel held, cared for, and met exactly where you are.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Do you know how delusional you have to be to bet on yourself, especially with something people don’t understand? This work is a constant risk. We offer something most people have never encountered, yet we still choose it.

We take this work across the country and across the world and trust that people will show up. Trust that our vibe attracts our tribe. But that doesn’t make it easy. Training in aquatic therapy is demanding. Physically, mentally, financially. You have to be fully invested or the water will humble you.

Water is high risk. It requires presence and respect. It keeps you honest. It forces you to stay a student and stay flexible. To adjust. To shift. To change your mind when needed.

The risk never goes away, but neither does the calling. And I follow that.
