Hi Dr. Foye , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always had a desire to solve problems for people. From logistics advice, to relationship advice (sometimes unsolicited), to general life talk, helping people has always been my passion. The field of medicine has given me the opportunity to help others see some of their medical problems as a resolvable condition. Life Savers Emergency Room was born out of desire to solve the problem my patients and I would face each day in the ER. Long wait times, rushed care, incomplete workups were the standard of care that my patients were experiencing. Opening a facility that had a focus on patient care, patient satisfaction and general well being has been an amazingly satisfying profession for me. We ( my husband and I), opened our first location in 2015 near Willowbrook area. In 2018, we opened the doors of our second location in Heights, Houston. In 2021, despite the challenges of Covid-19, we were fortunate enough to open a third location. We continue to seek expansion in a safe and measured way as we strive to ensure that we providing the care that we set out to provide from the start in 2015. Most recently, I opened a Houston Injury & Wellness Clinic. The problem I wanted to solve was that many patients visit the Emergency Room as a last resort. They have either been unable to see their primary care doctor, do not have a primary care doctor or have faced too many hurdles in the clinic journey to dedicate time to establishing with a clinic. Not to mention, many clinics are overwhelmed with patients and have long wait times. Houston Injury & Wellness clinic aims to care for patients who are recovering from injuries such as auto accidents, work related accidents as well as patients who need routine physical exams and follow up care after acute illness. At Houston Injury & Wellness Clinic, patients can also be sure of a Doctor that will focus on not just checking boxes on a health screen, but will take the time to ensure that their total wellness is a priority .
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never an easy choice or journey. There have been many challenges, from competition externally, to internal completion. As smart and full of ideas as one may be, there are many people with similar ideas and aspirations so it is important to have perseverance along the way. Covid-19 was a particularly memorable time due to shortages in staff, supplies, and grave risks of being in the health care sector. I remember praying each day for my staff and myself that God would see us through this season. Making a living for your family is one thing, but knowing you may lose your life while trying to work is a sobering thought we all had to face every day.

Houston Injury & Wellness Clinic is a medical clinic with a focus on getting patients on their journey to recover while paying attention to their need to have basic health screenings performed. Many patients dont have a regular Doctor that they can call on. At Houston Injury & Wellness Clinic, we aim to bridge that gap between patients and their medical provider by being accessible in every way. We have various payment plans and accept medical insurance. We are also able to see patients from the comfort of their homes or in our brand new clinic. Getting to the Doctor during one’s work week is very difficult, thus we are one of the few clinics in Houston that are open on Saturdays. Our patients’ comfort and convenience is our goal.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the diversity of Houston. Houston is a very friendly city. The restaurants are amazing and endless. My least favorite thing is probably the weather and traffic. However, I am also not a fan of cold weather at all so I’ve decided it’s not so bad and I make the best of it.
