Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Broussard.
Hi Eric, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been a creative. The thought of starting with nothing and creating something has always infatuated me. That desire, plus my connection to construction, birth Paramount Design and Development. It wasn’t supposed to be a business, but God had other plans. I decided to build a home for my family and I, and throughout the construction, almost every day, people would stop by and ask who the builder of the home was. We even received an offer, but my wife was having none of it. A few months later, a close family friend asked me to build their home, and the same thing happened. At this point, my wife encouraged me to put a sign in the yard, and things took off!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Surprisingly the road has been smoother than I expected. Sometimes you have demanding clients, but I think that’s comes with the territory. People are paying a large sum of money for the house of their dreams, so it’s quite natural to be a little demanding. Understanding is the key. As far as building the company, I leave it in the hands of the Almighty… He has taught me I don’t have to be in competition with my fellow builder. He will bring us our clients. What’s for us is for us. I have an abundance mindset and believe there is truly enough for everyone to prosper and have success. No one has to fail for us to succeed.
We’ve been impressed with Paramount Design and Development, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a custom home construction company. We strive to push the boundaries with our builds. We work with some of the best architects in the Houston area to provide new and fresh ideas to a sometimes-bland landscape. What sets us apart is our attention to detail and our care for the client and their concerns. We don’t want to just build them a house. We want them to be a part of our Paramount family. We seek to facilitate a healthy relationship between us and the client throughout the project and the years ahead. What makes me most proud brand-wise is the fact that every bank or sub-contractor has repeatedly told me how much they enjoy working with our company. To have people who work with so many other companies and do this everyday heap that type of adoration on our company is a great feeling.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Where do I begin? So many resources. I love listening to Earl Nightingale and Jim Rohn. A great resource is “The Elements of Building: A Business Handbook for Residential Builders & Tradesmen,” a Book by Mark Q. Kerson. It touches on a lot of things we deal with in the field of construction. I also like to watch different interior designers on YouTube.
