Hi Erica, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I founded the Erica Rose Law Firm PLLC in 2019. My husband, Charles K. Sanders, became my law partner at the firm a year later after working with me here for about 6 months. Then, we officially became The Rose Sanders Law Firm PLLC in 2020. We worked hard on building our business together. We expanded to Dallas, McAllen, and El Paso, where we help injured Texans all over the state. In 2023, Erica was selected as Rising Star Super Lawyer for Family law.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
First, we had to figure out how to combine our practice areas- family law and personal injury. You could say that it definitely took us some time to figure that out and to educate ourselves on each other’s practices. However, surprisingly or not, several of our clients have come to us for both matters at different times. For example, family law clients that we helped years ago are now calling when they get into a car accident. Conversely, a personal injury client has come to us for a family law matter. They are both civil litigations, so a lot of the same rules apply.

We like to give every client a personalized case strategy that allows them to get the best possible outcome for their legal matter. We strive to always give our clients individualized attention regardless of how busy we may be our how many clients with active cases that we have. Whether they are healing from a traumatic car accident or going through a stressful divorce or child custody matter we know that being there as a counselor and advocate for them is so important. I think being a husband-and-wife team really sets us apart. In addition, our paralegals are mother and son. We like our clients to feel like they are part of our family, and many keep in touch with us long after their legal matter is over.
We were really proud to be selected to Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023. That meant so much since it is peer-nominated and selected. We always treat opposing counsel with respect as we all can learn from each other and that also makes the process go so much smoother for our clients.
Another thing that sets Erica Rose apart is her background as a certified life coach prior to becoming an attorney. Those skills come in useful sometimes with clients who are struggling emotionally.
Also, her television background and entertainment and media law LLM degree helps when representing clients in the media or even with defamation clients.
Charles background as a previous insurance adjuster gives him specific insight into the way insurance companies operate, and know how to counter the tactics deployed by these insurance companies to lower payouts on claims.
What makes you happy?
Aside from our children and our families, excelling at our chosen careers and client satisfaction really brings us joy. We love helping an injured person be able to afford the medical treatment they need by getting them money from the insurance companies as well as money for their pain and suffering. We want them to walk away feeling whole again with a new excitement for life.
The same goes for our family law clients. Divorce can be really painful, but it can also be viewed as a positive fresh start. We like to leave our clients with a renewed sense of hope.
We also enjoy getting about and about and giving back to the community and those who are less fortunate than us. For Easter, he handed out Easter baskets to a teen girls shelter, and that really touched our hearts.
We also enjoy social media and have started an Instagram Vodcast, Slaying Down the Law, where we engage with other members of the legal community and share our opinion on controversial laws and other pressing legal issues and current events.
