Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelin Lemus.
Hi Evelin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Starting a company was very nerve-racking, especially at the age of 16. I was working part-time jobs while attending high school and realized I wanted more than that. Getting as little as 200 dollars every week, I saved money to buy equipment to start my detailing business, it was a very simple setup, but it got the job done. I started by cleaning cars for family and friends, they were always very supportive, so they always recommended me to other friends of theirs. For a while, I stopped, lost motivation for everything, including school. Graduation was near, and I didn’t make it. I always had my friends motivating me to keep pushing and not give up until one day, I had enough. I finished high school, took a little vacation with my family moved to Houston, and started college at HCC. Knowing school was never for me I decided to start all over with my business again in 2022 never lost track I saved money to buy better equipment. Then I decided my company needed a name and that’s when Htown Auto Detail was born. I still remember my first customer here; I’m happy to say that they are still my customer till this day. I’ve still had ups and downs, but I always push through I like to Thank God a lot and my mom siblings, and friends for getting me here. Their support has been amazing especially my mom’s I look up to her a lot she’s a strong woman, and I just hope one day I’m as half as the strong woman she is.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? No, but nothing great has never been easy, and if it easy it ain’t great; that’s how I like to think of it at least. One of my biggest struggles has been my dad not being able to be here with me to see everything I’ve accomplished. Not just for me but for my siblings too, moving from Colorado to Houston by myself just so I could focus on myself has be tough. And I’m sure it’s been tough on my mom and siblings as well. We’ve all been struggling as a family mentally and financially. I want to be the breakthrough tho I wanna be the one to break any generational curses, I wanna make it. I will make it.

H-town Auto Detail is an Auto detailing business; we pride ourselves in our work. We offer a variety of services, from basic detailing services to advanced. We are a mobile company so any services you want done we go to you! One of my proudest moments always is seeing customers face light up when they see the work that has been done to their car, we understand any struggles any of our customers have, from being a busy mom/dad with little kids to being a construction worker who hasn’t had time to clean their truck/car or someone who just wants to relax that day and take a break. I usually watch lives from my church back in Colorado every Sunday; it’s like a reset day. Even while I’m working on a vehicle, I simply put my headphones on, and I listen and work. It makes me look back at me and my life and question what can I do better what can I change, who can I help.
