Today we’d like to introduce you to Fortunah George.

Hi Fortunah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Fortunah Kourtney Glory Tom George.

In 2018, my life changed in a way that required immense strength and resilience. As a burns survivor, I entered a season of recovery that reshaped not only my body, but my perspective on life. That period challenged me deeply and led me through depression, anxiety, and the rebuilding of my self worth.

What began as hardship ultimately became transformation. I chose to turn my experiences into purpose, allowing my journey to inspire connection, confidence, and healing for others. Through faith, reflection, and intentional growth, I found clarity in who I am and how I want to show up in the world.

Today, I stand grounded, restored, and fully aligned with this moment in my life. I see this chapter as the opening of something meaningful and expansive, both personally and professionally. All glory to God.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of my greatest challenges has been learning how to navigate reinvention without limiting myself to a single identity. Recovering from a life altering experience required patience, discipline, and emotional resilience, especially while rebuilding confidence in both personal and professional spaces. There were moments where visibility, consistency, and self belief were tested, particularly in industries that often value perfection over truth.

I also faced the challenge of honoring multiple talents without feeling pressured to choose just one path. Learning to trust my timing, refine my voice, and move with intention rather than urgency has been essential. Each obstacle strengthened my clarity and reminded me that growth does not need to be rushed to be powerful.

I also struggled with bullying I was always bullied

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Glory’s catering/ services ?
I wear several hats in my professional life, all rooted in service, creativity, and connection. I am a hospitality professional with experience as both a personal assistant and a server. As a personal assistant, I specialize in organization, task management, and ensuring operations run smoothly and efficiently for my clients. In my role as a server, I focus on delivering exceptional customer service and creating thoughtful, welcoming dining experiences.

In addition to these roles, I am a full time model, fashion designer, and content creator. My work includes participating in photo shoots, fashion campaigns, and producing lifestyle and fashion content across multiple platforms. I take pride in blending creativity with professionalism, using visual storytelling as a way to express confidence, individuality, and purpose while connecting with diverse audiences.

I am also a caterer and food creative with a deep appreciation for the cultural and emotional impact of food. Whether through curated dining experiences or visual food storytelling, my approach centers on presentation, care, and creating moments that bring people together in meaningful ways.

Beyond my professional work, I am deeply involved in advocacy and support as a burns survivor. I focus on raising awareness around burn recovery, offering emotional support, and sharing my personal journey to inspire others facing similar challenges. I provide guidance and resources to help burn survivors navigate recovery and rediscover strength within their own stories.

What sets me apart is my ability to balance these diverse roles with intention, dedication, and authenticity. I am proud of the way I have integrated my skills, passions, and lived experiences into a cohesive path that empowers, uplifts, and fosters genuine connection.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 crisis taught me a number of crucial lessons, particularly in the context of my experience as a burns survivor. One significant lesson is the importance of resilience and adaptability. The pandemic highlighted how quickly circumstances can change, and it reinforced the need to be flexible and proactive in the face of unexpected challenges.

In addition, the crisis underscored the value of community and support networks. Even though I had already learned the importance of these from my recovery journey, the pandemic amplified the need for solidarity and mutual aid. It was a reminder that we all benefit from coming together to support one another, especially during times of crisis.

Lastly, I gained a deeper appreciation for health and safety practices, both in personal and professional settings. The pandemic made it clear how essential it is to prioritize well-being and stay informed about best practices to protect ourselves and those around us.

Overall, these lessons have reinforced my commitment to resilience, community support, and health, all of which are integral to both my personal and professional life.
