Today we’d like to introduce you to Janet Guillen.
Hi Janet, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Janet owner of blooming creations. I’d like to introduce our beginning by starting letting you all know I’m born & raised in Houston I love my city & all that it has to offer. So many wonderful views & coffee shops that I have yet to see. I love going on bike rides, I’m a nature lover. My mornings consist of tons of coffee & a whole bunch of flowers.
My journey started in Miss October of 2018 I started looking to do something from home to be there for my kids full time. I know many moms can relate.
But can I truly be honest with you guys for a moment??
I started struggling with working full time and taking my kids to so many Dr. appointments & also juggling with ministry. I want to say that for about a full year before I made this final decision it was one thing after another and back to back. I was so exhausted and missing so much work many times. I’m sure all my moms know what that feels like. I was told my youngest was to see a cardiologist & well my oldest was being send to see a specialist for her RA. Things were getting serious fast. That’s when I knew my kids needed me the most so I had to make a decision. I wanted to be there for my kids they needed their prayer warrior mom. Well, that’s when I completely decided to be their full time. After so much prayer I knew what I had to do. I had to leave my career something that I had earned with so much hard work this was a very bitter-sweet moment for me. I had made so many sacrifices & also had missed many nights in tucking in my kid’s good night to make this career, college thing work and now I had to let it go to be their full time for them I know I was doing the right thing. Sometimes that’s just what we have to do as moms we sacrifice.
For all my mothers out there working & doing everything else oh how I admire you. Really! I do.
To my husband: I’m grateful for the partner God has given me who has always had my back & inspired me to keep going in this business passion industry. Thank you for all your prayers. I have no idea what I would do without them.
It isn’t easy. There is so much competition nowadays. I’ve had my ups and downs but I’m certainly not here to compete. I’m here to create, inspire, & bring all those things I already have in mind to earth so that you guys may be able to see the beauty of nature.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been easy, but I’ve learned to evolve, grow and enjoy my process.

We’re a floral business looking to serve the community around us in expressing our love in flowers. We hope to change atmospheres in each delivery, weddings and or special events. Our language has been love since day one & we transfer that in everything that we create or do. We believe in the power of prayer so yes we pray for our flowers & believe it or not we’ve seen so many lives touched in such a way that we’ve seen so many tears of joy.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is having that entrepreneurial spirit in me. I remember going out with my family almost every weekend to the flea market & the one thing I would ask for was pencils. Yes, pencils bundles and bundles of all kinds. My father had no idea I was making profit and also resold all these pencils. Till this day he has no idea. I personally didn’t know either till I started running my own business I understood where my drive came from.
