Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have always wanted to provide a space for people to celebrate in beauty. When the pandemic hit, I tried to think of a way where people could celebrate in safety and in beauty. I had heard of companies who created luxury picnic experiences for people in other parts of the country and I decided that would be right in line with my own visions and dreams. I love to decorate for events and see the looks on my client’s faces when they first see my creations. The icing on the cake is being able to deliver a beautifully decorated space to various places around the city.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road but I have loved watching my company evolve over time. When I initially started this business I was seven months pregnant. This made setting up a challenge, especially with moving the furniture and bending to decorate the low tables. However, the baby was born in January and I was able to create again, right on time for Valentine’s Day. Some other challenges include setting up at parks with very strict rules and having to start over at a new location. Because of this, I have streamlined my company to focus more on in-home and backyard picnics. However, I do have a great working relationship with Deussen Park for clients who would prefer a park picnic.

Pretty Jazzy Picnics is a luxury picnic company that delivers beautifully decorated picnics for any occasion. We travel Houston and surrounding areas to provide picnic tables decorated by the theme of the client’s choice, along with rugs, blankets, pillows and place settings for each person included in booking. A Bluetooth speaker, sanitizer, assorted juices, and water, are included with every picnic. We also offer painting kits, charcuterie boards and mimosa bars as additional services that can be added to any picnic. These picnics are the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, bridal shower, anniversary, proposal, date night or anything else in between!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I have learned to keep going no matter what. When I began this journey the weather was not the best and I did not initially get the response that I expected. But I kept showing up at pop-up shops and on social media and as the weather improved, so did my booking calendar. I learned that consistency and perseverance really do pay off!
