Hi Jazmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up with a Cosmetologist as a mom, opened me up to the world of beauty at an early age. I loved watching her do her makeup and hair, and once I was allowed to start doing it myself, I quickly fell in love with everything beauty. I could spend hours doing it and eventually started waxing my own brows. What started as a personal passion, quickly evolved once I realized I was able to pass that feeling of empowerment and confidence onto other people. Throughout my high school years, I had friends and family members book me to do their makeup for specials events which sparked the idea of my own business. After high school, I found out about Estheticians and started doing more research, I knew that was exactly what I was meant to do. As I started dabbling more into waxing and brows, I found the root of my passion, which flourished into what is now Miracles Angelic Skin. I set out to create a space where every single one of my clients feel safe, seen, and beautiful. Enhancing their natural beauty and them leaving with a new found confidence is why I love what I do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being the oldest meant I was the first in my family to experience many things without any real guidance. It was scary stepping into the unknown—no one in my family had ever started a business from scratch, and I was about to do it just a month after quitting my job, with no savings and no clients.
I quickly learned that starting a business involves so much more than just picking a name, location, and logo. What I thought would take two weeks ended up taking over a month, and once I finally opened, it was pure survival mode. There were moments I barely made enough to cover my suite rent, yet I still had to find a way to pay my bills and restock supplies to keep things going.
Through it all, I’m beyond grateful for my close friends and family. Their encouragement kept me grounded during the toughest times—when I felt discouraged, stressed, and unsure if I could keep going, their words reminded me why I started in the first place.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I specialize in face and body waxing, brows, and makeup. My most popular services are Brazilian waxing and eyebrow lamination and tint. I truly believe everyone deserves a moment of self-care and a little confidence boost—and sometimes that comes from smooth, hair-free skin and perfectly shaped brows. I’m proud that my studio is a place my clients look forward to visiting, not just for the services, but for the connection we share. In the future, I hope to guide others in the world of waxing by training and helping them build their own dream businesses too.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I always love connecting with other service providers and getting to share our passion for waxing. As I keep meeting upcoming waxers and estheticians, I am happy that I get to help them out sharing my story of how it all began. I want to spread my knowledge and experiences in the upcoming years and become a trainer or mentor to those who are in the same scary road I was when I first started my journey. The hard times that a new business owner goes through aren’t talked about enough and I feel like that’s what discourages many, so I keep it honest and relatable when people come to me for advice.
