Community Highlights: Meet Jazmine Reyes of RAW Holistic Coaching & Consultant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jazmine Reyes

Hi Jazmine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I practiced Nursing before I even knew what nursing really was. I was my mom’s personal helper when I was 11 and she was going through chemotherapy treatments with breast cancer. I learned to empty her surgical drains, track her medications, and offer sponge baths when she was too weak to shower herself. During this same season of life, I also witnessed my father’s final moments in the ICU as liver cirrhosis claimed his life. These profound early experiences with both my parents’ health journeys didn’t just shape my path to nursing – they planted the seeds for a deeper understanding of what healing truly means.

My nursing journey began in the ICU, where I spent over seven years caring for critical patients. During this time, I experienced firsthand the effects of burnout and saw how conventional healthcare often overlooks the root causes of illness. It was this combination of personal experience and professional burnout that drove me to explore holistic wellness, eventually leading me to pursue certifications in Functional Medicine, Integrative Nurse Coaching, and now, Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies & Research.

I launched my practice RAW Holistic Coaching & Consulting where RAW stands for “Remembering Ancestral Wisdom”. At RAW Holistic Coaching & Consulting, I take an integrative approach, blending Ancestral Wisdom with modern. In a world that often pushes us to do more, be more, and ignore our body’s signals, my approach advocates for something radical: slowing down, tuning in, and trusting the wisdom that lives inside you. I meet clients where they are and walk alongside them as they reconnect with their own body wisdom, addressing root causes rather than just treating symptoms. I see my role as a guide, helping others navigate their healing journey with support, compassion, and tools they can use lifelong. I teach my clients how to be their own Health Coach!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been anything but easy, but I wouldn’t trade this path for anything. Some of the biggest challenges I’ve faced include:

The shift from W-2 employee to self-employed boss. Suddenly, I wasn’t just doing one job—I was the CEO, COO, CFO, Marketing Director, Sales Rep, and everything in between. That first year was a massive reality check!

Work-life balance (or lack thereof). Coming from a schedule of three 12-hour shifts where I could clock out and be done, I was not prepared for the nonstop nature of entrepreneurship. There were weeks where all I did was work, with zero social life. I quickly realized that if I wanted to show up as my best self in my business, I needed to prioritize self-care and quality time with loved ones.

Battling self-doubt. Thoughts like “Am I really good enough?” or “Can I actually make this work?” crept in more times than I can count. Thankfully, I invested in a business coach/mentor who helped me navigate those tough moments and push past my own limitations.

It hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has been a lesson, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am a Nurse Coach & Consultant.

What is a Nurse Coach?

A Nurse Coach is a highly skilled Registered Nurse, going beyond the usual nursing and coaching roles. I blend my nursing knowledge with coaching techniques to guides clients to a healthier, more balanced life using a holistic approach that addresses physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational wellness.

I become a friendly partner in a client’s journey towards better health and wellbeing. So think of me like their own personal health cheerleader! I am here to guide them into taking an active role in their health through dietary and lifestyle changes, finding the tools to cope with stressors in a healthy way, and most importantly supporting them into finding the highest version of themselves!

The number one distinction that sets me apart from other coaches is that a nurse health coach has a nursing qualification and experience, where as a health coach does not.

Now, on to the consulting. I specialize in gut health, women’s hormones, and mental health. A deep evaluation of lab results, health history, and goals is conducted to identify root causes of health issues, considering factors like nutrition, sleep, and stress. A personalized Wellness Plan, tailored to your unique needs includes recommendations, resources, and steps based on my nursing assessment. Emphasis is placed on education, enabling you to gain a deep understanding of how your body functions.

One thing I want readers to know about my practice? It’s the complete opposite of most health coaches you see online.

Here’s why.

We live in a society that is heavily influenced by health misinformation and trends, burnout as a badge of honor, and self-limiting beliefs that hinder us from reaching our fullest potential.

my approach is simple.

Let’s live more like our ancestors by consuming high-quality food, practicing mindfulness, listening to our body, cultivating genuine human connections, and slowing down.

I help uncover the root causes of your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health issues diving deep into your history, deep questioning + active listening, conducting functional lab testing, and promoting a soft, slow, and intentional way of living. Our bodies have the power to heal; we just need to create the right environment.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The word “No” is not in my vocabulary & everything/anything that is meant for me… will happen.

The wellness retreat I had my eye on sold out? My gut told me otherwise. I emailed them and asked to be placed on their waitlist to which they replied that they actually just had a cancellation. I was on that retreat 2 months later.

That beautiful house deal that fell through? Life circumstances changed a couple months after and it turns out it that it would have actually been the wrong move had that happened. We dodged a bullet.

I don’t let anything or anyone stop me from “shooting my shot” because it usually turns out that it works out in my favor. And when it DOESN’T, I don’t sulk (sometimes I do, let’s be honest, I am human after all) because I know that my path is leading me somewhere better.
