John Paul Capistran’s career started 20 years ago when he entered the world of wealth management. At a very young age, JP learned about the importance of implementing a plan and strategy with everything you do, especially financial planning. He has managed $200 million of assets and partnered in the retirement planning and pension programs for all the major hospitals in the Houston Medical Center area. Following the pandemic in 2020, JP made a decision to become an independent fiduciary and founded Caplo Advisory Group. We are currently revolutionizing the way millennials and Gen Zs plan for their future.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
John Paul contributes a large part of his early success to his journey in the corporate world. Unfortunately, as an independent, we assume all the day-to-day and corporate realities without corporate backing. It’s the Wild West for small business owners, almost as if the system is set up for entrepreneurs to fail. JP’s experience and struggles are contributing factors to why he implements business planning into his practice. He feels a responsibility to advise other fellow business owners who encounter these challenges.

Caplo Advisory’s mission is to educate and implement financial planning for all types of earners. Our goal is to predominately work with H.E.N.R.Y.’s. High Earners Not Rich Yet. This is definitely not to be taken in a negative light. It’s simply the reality with Millennials and the new generation. Most of us did not come from wealth and are first-generation 6-figure earners. Unfortunately, this increase in earnings can come with a lack of knowledge and guidance to manage wealth and create a legacy for our own families.
