Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh and Ashley Stepp.
Hi Josh and Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are Josh and Ashley Stepp, and we own and run Final Stepp Pest Control. We met and started dating in 2009 then both started working for Ashley’s father’s pest control company in Houston for several years. Josh became their top seller and technician and Ashley managed their office.
We married in 2011 and in late 2012 we planted our roots in Magnolia, TX.
In 2018, we realized we wanted to carve out our own path in the pest control industry, so we created Final Stepp Pest Control; building clientele AND their trust.
Now here we are in 2023: your local, family owned and operated pest control company, servicing the greater Houston area, Harris, Montgomery, and surrounding counties!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any business, the road won’t always be smooth; especially starting from the ground up. In the beginning, sourcing clients was a struggle. And then through the pandemic, trying to find folks that wanted to work. But through those trials and tribulations, we kept our faith, kept working through and overcame it.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Final Stepp Pest Control?
When we say we are a local family-owned pest control business, we mean it! We are a husband and wife team and occasionally you’ll even see our young sons out and about helping their dad.
We take pride in making sure our clients feel like they’re part of the family. We feel like it’s important to be loyal and real. If our clients aren’t taken care of, we’re not doing our job right.
Our services range from pest, termite, and rodent control, treatments, inspections (owners + on home purchases), mosquito misting system installations (hello, Texas mosquitoes!), commercial drain cleaning (specializing in dialysis clinics), and so much more.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Well, the biggest risk that we’ve taken was jumping in + starting this business, without knowing the outcome.
We had zero clients, to begin with. One hurdle is knowing WHEN to take the risk. But without taking the risk, you never quite know what could become of it; good or bad.
