Today we’d like to introduce you to Julie McLemore.
Hi Julie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Hello, my name is Julie! I was born in Monterrey, MX and I moved to Houston, TX at the age of 14. I always knew I loved photography but the dream didn’t start until 3 years ago in the city of Tomball, TX where I had my first photoshoot ever. I specialize in high school seniors and creative portraiture.
I knew I wanted to build a business where you could feel loved and beautiful. I love to create meaningful relationships and strong bonds with every single one of my angels.
I couldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for the continuous support of my amazing family.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to building photography angels has been a pretty smooth one. Struggles are still present here and there as I have to deal with impostor syndrome more than I would like to admit.
I am lucky to have some amazing customers and friends who have been sticking to my side since I can remember, Kyla, Tori, and Cesia, just to name a few. I know I can trust them for my whole life when it comes to any creative and fun sessions.
Photography Angels have been set in a strong foundation built by the amazing community that supports me every single day.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Photography Angels specialize in bringing your creative ideas to life. I work with high school seniors to create special memories that last their whole life.
What I am most proud of and what sets Photography Angels apart from others is that I make sure to make you feel empowered, loved, and comfortable with us. I love to create amazing relationships and strong bonds with anybody who inquiries and works with us since I think this is what adds character and value to a small business.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I think reaching out to people who are in the same creative community and understand your struggles is one of the biggest ways to network and enjoy the community a little more. You want someone you can trust as a colleague and friend.
Some of the people I look up to are Ally Davis from @allydavisphotography and Regina Blancas from @reginablancas. They have been amazing people and so sweet to me. We have some things in common like our love for Harry Styles or H‑E‑B!
