Today we’d like to introduce you to Kari Queen.
Hi Kari, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I always knew I was going to be an entrepreneur even before I knew what it was called. I go by the name Kari Queen. I’m from Rialto, California, and I just want the money. Growing up, I was always trying to hustle someone out a dollar. I’d buy candy by the bulk and sell it at the bus stop and school. I even had an employee. I hired my cousin and remembered making $200 in a week and thought I was on. I also use to burn CDs and them to the kids in my neighborhood or at school since we were one of the first and only one with a computer on the block. Money just always gave me a sense of security. I love how it make me feel, and I love how it made others feel. I loved being able to go in the store a buy something that my mom would have told me No. I think I got my hustling spirit from my grandma (big mama). That lady was so fly to me. She wore a lot of gold, had a lot of money, and she would always buy me and all the grandkids stuff. Fast forward, I ended up getting pregnant my senior year of high school and gave birth to my daughter 20 days after I graduated. That’s when things got real for me. I had a responsibility to keep my daughter clothed and fed. That was the basic necessities, and that alone was a struggle. It was no longer about me, and it was hard to find that balance between motherhood and providing. Working dead-end jobs, staying away from my baby, and still not making ends meet was not cutting it. I realized that no matter how hard I worked, it felt like I was in a hamster wheel. That is when I decided that I was going to figure out and go on a pursuit to become financially stable. That’s where IJWTM came about. I was working so hard, hustling, going to school you know locked in. I was on a clear mission to do better, get better and become better. I cleaned up my environment. I cleaned up my friend circle and stated going around those ambitious and had goals and dreams. I started reading and learning about business, and I became infatuated with it. The more I learned the more I wanted to share with other people that we been doing it all wrong all along. I just want the money would be something that was embedded in my head every time I begin to feel overwhelmed or when I wanted to quit. I would say it so much, and many people around me would say it too, so there it was. It became a chant used for motivation to get goals hit and use money as a tool to come up on top. To be better and to be able to provide the generations to come with stability. To be able to enjoy life.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I am still actively pursuing my dreams and goals, and I be the first to say that it is far from easy. In fact, my dreams and goals scare me a little bit. The things I am trying to accomplish I never seen done before. Success will always have bumps in the road, and there will always be struggles, hardships, and delays. You will experience every emotion behind what you are building. Just got to keep praying and keep going. It all boils down to how bad you want it and knowing that you will eventually get to where you are going.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking.
Life is risky! Risk goes hand in hand with the uncomfortable feeling of wanting more or change. I believe it is necessary to be risky because the opposite will make you complacent and stagnant. All my moves consist of risk due to me pursuing dreams I never seen don’t before and no one around me have done. I made friends with being uncomfortable.
