Today we’d like to introduce you to Langston Grady

Hi Langston, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Langston Grady’s journey is one of passion, perseverance, and purpose. Born and raised in San Antonio, he attended John Jay High School, where his talent on the basketball court earned him a scholarship. With a strong work ethic both on and off the court, he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice while continuing his basketball career. After dedicating several years to the sport, he transitioned into education, earning his special education certification and spending six years teaching in San Antonio. His time in the classroom gave him a deep appreciation for working with children, further shaping his path and values.

In 2014, Langston made the move to Houston, embracing a new chapter in his professional journey. He shifted his focus to real estate, earning his license and building a successful career as a Realtor over the past eight years. His experience in education translated seamlessly into real estate, as his patience, dedication, and strong communication skills helped him guide clients through the home-buying process. While he thrived in the industry, another passion had been calling him for years—his love for cooking. Inspired by the joy of creating meals that bring people together, he decided to take a leap of faith and pursue his culinary dreams.

That leap led to the creation of Savory Table, a business that blends his love for food with an elegant yet comforting touch. The venture has been a rewarding success, allowing him to share his culinary talents while continuing to serve others in a meaningful way. As a proud father of four beautiful children, Langston balances his professional aspirations with the joy of parenthood, always striving to set an example of dedication and resilience. His journey is a testament to following one’s passions, embracing change, and never being afraid to take on new challenges.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Langston Grady’s path to success was far from easy. Growing up in San Antonio, he quickly learned the value of hard work and perseverance. Basketball became his outlet, a way to push past life’s challenges and earn opportunities beyond his neighborhood. Though he secured a scholarship and pursued a degree in Criminal Justice, the transition from student-athlete to professional life was not as seamless as he had imagined. His dream of continuing in basketball met unexpected roadblocks, forcing him to reconsider his path. It was a tough reality to face, but rather than dwell on disappointment, he pivoted, using his determination to carve out a new purpose in education.

Becoming a special education teacher was both rewarding and demanding. Working with students who required extra patience and attention tested his resilience daily, yet it also deepened his sense of fulfillment. However, financial stability was a constant concern, and balancing his responsibilities as an educator and a father required sacrifices. When he moved to Houston in 2014, stepping into the world of real estate presented another set of challenges. The competitive nature of the industry meant long hours, uncertainty, and moments of self-doubt. He had to build his reputation from the ground up, learning to navigate a field where success wasn’t guaranteed. But through persistence, he found his footing, growing his clientele and establishing himself as a trusted Realtor.

Still, there was another dream he couldn’t ignore—cooking. For years, he had envisioned creating something of his own, but the fear of starting over held him back. When he finally took the leap with Savory Table, there were moments of struggle: the stress of launching a business, the pressure to stand out in a crowded industry, and the fear of failure. Yet, through each obstacle, he pushed forward, just as he had in every stage of his journey. Today, he is proud to see his culinary passion thriving, proving that resilience and faith in oneself can turn struggles into stepping stones for success.

We’ve been impressed with SavoryTable, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

What sets Savory Table apart is the personal touch and attention to detail. It’s not just about serving food—it’s about creating memorable moments around the table. The brand prides itself on its ability to curate menus that reflect both tradition and creativity, offering a mix of classic comfort dishes with a sophisticated twist. From soulful, home-cooked flavors to elegant, gourmet plating, Savory Table is designed to bring people together over meals that feel both familiar and indulgent.

Brand-wise, the biggest source of pride is the growing recognition and success of Savory Table. Seeing people connect through food and hearing how each meal leaves a lasting impression is the most rewarding part of the journey. Readers should know that Savory Table is more than just a business—it’s a passion-driven venture dedicated to delivering not just great food, but an experience that lingers long after the last bite. Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
For anyone just starting out—whether in business, real estate, or any passion-driven career—my biggest piece of advice is to stay patient and trust the process. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and there will be setbacks, doubts, and moments when you question if you’re on the right path. But if you stay consistent, keep learning, and put in the work, the results will come. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, but your journey is unique. Focus on your craft, build strong relationships, and stay true to what makes your brand or service special.

One thing I wish I had known earlier is the importance of building a strong support system. Whether it’s mentors, like-minded professionals, or friends who believe in you, having people around you who push you forward is invaluable. When I started Savory Table, I had to learn a lot through trial and error—things like branding, marketing, and managing the business side of my passion. If I could go back, I’d tell myself to invest more time in networking and seeking guidance from those who have already been through it. There’s so much power in learning from others’ experiences.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to take risks. The fear of failure can hold you back, but every challenge is an opportunity to grow. When I transitioned from real estate to launching my culinary brand, I had doubts, but I believed in my vision. If you’re passionate about what you’re doing and willing to put in the effort, you’ll find a way to make it work. Keep pushing forward, embrace the learning process, and remember why you started in the first place.
