Hi leila, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Space Montrose began in 2010, founded by Carlos and me with a simple dream: to create a place where our community could come together and support independent artists and entrepreneurs. We wanted a space that didn’t just sell beautiful things, but shared the stories behind the makers who created them. Over the years, we’ve had the honor of representing hundreds of artists and creators. Every item in Space Montrose is made with love and thoughtfully curated to offer Houston—and everyone who visits—a truly unique shopping experience.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been worth every turn. Our dream is for Space Montrose to be here for years to come—and maybe one day be run by one of our four kids, and then passed on to the next generation.

I’m most proud that our store creates space for independent brands to share their work. Located in a special part of Houston where community thrives, Space Montrose is a welcoming place to gather and discover the stories behind our makers.

It hasn’t been about luck—it’s been about years of hard work and perseverance. We’re incredibly thankful for the community that has stood by us and supported our business.
