Hi Liz, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My career path has been wonderfully circuitous, with each step naturally informing the next. After beginning as a schoolteacher, my husband’s career transfers required us to move frequently. I turned this challenge into an opportunity, mastering interior design through correspondence courses with the Sheffield School, which provided a robust foundation in both design and business. I successfully launched and operated interior design firms in both Connecticut and Arizona. A subsequent move to Tampa, with two young children at home, led me to discover a passion for painting. I honed my craft through workshops and self-study, eventually selling my artwork. This diverse creative journey culminated in the 2010 founding of LMB Boutique. The dream was to bring the unique, high-quality merchandise I discovered on my travels back to my clients. Today, LMB is renowned for its curated collections, exceptional service, and an eye-catching interior that reflects our belief that true style is a personal discovery, not a passing trend.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Building a business is inherently challenging, and my journey has required resilience. I believe in taking calculated risks and applying relentless determination to problem-solving. However, I also balance that persistence with pragmatic judgment. I commit fully to overcoming obstacles, but I also know that true strength lies in recognizing when the cost outweighs the potential reward. This ethic of focused perseverance has been the bedrock of my accomplishments.
