Community Highlights: Meet Meredith Bowerman of MBD Realtor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meredith Bowerman.

Hi Meredith, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After my divorce, I found myself standing at a major crossroads — emotionally, professionally, and personally. I had to make some big decisions: Where was I going to work? How would I support myself… and my four animals, who are truly my family?

I’ve always had a background in business, coaching, yoga, and nutrition, but I felt called to start something new — something that would give me flexibility, challenge me, and allow me to keep growing. Real estate became that path. I love learning, I love helping people, and I knew I could bring both strategy and heart to this field. Starting over wasn’t easy: I was building a brand-new business while healing from an emotionally abusive relationship, creating new friendships, and reconnecting with my own strength.

Around that same time, something unexpected came into my life — horses. I started taking riding lessons as a way to ground myself and connect with something real and present. It was more than a hobby; it was healing. Being around horses taught me how to slow down, listen to my intuition, and feel safe in my body again. That barn became a sanctuary, and it reminded me that I was rebuilding more than a career — I was rebuilding me.

Today, I combine everything I’ve lived through — the businesswoman, the coach, the survivor, the horse girl, and the animal mom — into how I serve others. Whether it’s helping someone find the right home or supporting a woman through a major life transition, I show up with empathy, wisdom, and a little bit of fiery redhead energy. Because starting over isn’t easy — but it’s powerful. And it’s absolutely possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nope — not even close! Cue laughter But honestly, looking back, it was probably smoother than it felt in the moment. There were definitely seasons of fear and serious anxiety, just not knowing if I could make it all work — financially, emotionally, logistically (hello, four animals to care for!).

Real estate is not an easy business to break into. There’s so much to learn, and so many moving parts — from contracts and negotiations to marketing and finding a brokerage that actually aligns with you. Spoiler alert: I didn’t find one that totally aligned. But what that taught me is something even more valuable — I don’t have to like my brokerage in order to be successful.

That mindset shift changed everything. I stopped trying to fit someone else’s mold and started building my own lane. I leaned into my independence and built a brand that actually reflects me — my style, my values, my story. And that freedom? It unlocked confidence I didn’t even know I had.

It’s only recently that I feel like I’ve truly embodied who I am, and let me tell you — that’s where the real power is. Not in blending in or following the rules… but in showing up fully as myself. That’s the energy I bring to everything I do now — and it’s magnetic.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m a real estate agent based in the Katy and Houston area, and I specialize in helping people make meaningful moves — especially during life transitions. Whether it’s a first-time homebuyer figuring out where to start, a family relocating across the country (or from another country!), or someone rebuilding after a major life change, I guide my clients with a lot of heart, strategy, and straight talk.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just “sell houses” — I help people find homes that feel right for them. I bring a coaching approach to real estate: I listen deeply, ask the right questions, and help people stay grounded through what can be a very emotional and overwhelming process.

I’ve built my brand to reflect who I truly am — calm when it counts, fierce when needed, and deeply committed to making sure my clients feel informed, empowered, and supported. I’m also known for bringing a little fun to the process — and yes, my cat Fat Tony has made a few cameo appearances in listings and newsletters! Fat Tony (looks like Garfield) is one of my marketing gurus and I love incorporating him in my marketing.

I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built. Most of my clients come from referrals, and some of them become friends. That’s how I know I’m doing something right — I’m not just helping people close a deal, I’m helping them start a new chapter with clarity and confidence.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m in an exciting season of expansion. While I’ll continue to support my real estate clients with heart and strategy, I’m also fully stepping into the next chapter of my purpose — developing my coaching business, Red Hot Coaching, where I work with women navigating reinvention, identity shifts, and life transitions.

What I’m most excited about is creating executive retreats for women — immersive, intentional experiences that blend emotional healing, realignment, and leadership from the inside out. These retreats will be designed for women who’ve done all the “right” things in life and business, but are ready to reconnect with who they truly are — not just who they’ve been expected to be.

And of course… I’ll be spending plenty of time riding Dulce, my heart horse and the beautiful rescue who showed up just when I needed her most. She’s not just part of my life — she’s part of my healing. She reminds me every day to stay present, soft, and curious — and she’ll absolutely be part of the journey as I build out this next vision.

It’s all unfolding in a way that finally feels aligned — where my real estate expertise, coaching practice, and love for animals and connection all get to coexist. And that, to me, is the dream.
