Hi Natalie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Natalie and I’m the Owner of Reece & Co. After I had my daughter, my body changed, my self-worth diminished, my confidence disappeared and I constantly hid from my true beauty. Years of dressing in frumpy, bland clothing I found at big box stores, I finally made a decision to stop chasing my old reflection in the mirror and began embracing my new one.
My husband looked at me as though I was still the person he met 5 years prior. Why couldn’t I? Feeling so much pressure from society, the media, the numbers on my clothing, and even other moms…I was blinded. He truly helped me see the woman I am and always was – beautiful, confident, strong, unstoppable. Little by little I began to work on healing my soul and confidence from the inside, out. Making this internal revelation was the most empowering feeling in the world. I wanted to celebrate with a new wardrobe that fit my body and made me feel good. For once in my life, I was not scared of my size, I didn’t force myself in a smaller garment, I truly felt beautiful in clothes that fit me properly. Unfortunately, this feeling was hard to come by, because I struggled finding boutiques, even mainstream stores, that held my size in trendy clothes. This is when I felt the calling to start my own boutique. I sat on the idea for a year and a half- constantly finding it creeping up in my thoughts on my commutes to work, while cooking dinner, everywhere. It was always on my mind. With the overwhelming support from my husband, I finally made my dream come true.
I started Reece & Co in November of 2021. I made it my mission to represent so many other women like myself and provide a local retail safe haven for mid to plus size women. From inception, Reece & Co believes in the power of the world’s curvy, tall, busty, “out of the norm” women. Joining the Reece & Co Community will not only bring your community, but bring you looks that celebrates our bodies and make you feel like the chic babe you are!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any new business, growing my following has been challenging, but I know I’m on the right track. This year I committed to utilizing social media, TikTok & Instagram Reels, to help organically grow my business. This was a BIG change for me. Just a few years ago, I rarely took photos of myself, let alone be confident enough to post videos. I’ve truly embraced these tools and stepped up to the challenge.
In such little time, I’ve learned that your biggest challenge as a business owner is usually overcoming yourself and not comparing yourself to others. It’s an active decision I have to make everyday, but when I do the road seems to get a lot smoother.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned so far is it is so important to believe in yourself and empower others. Owning a small business is a constant rollercoaster of emotions, really feeling every up and down. It’s essential to have conviction in what you do, why you do it, and remind yourself everyday. I started this business to empower mid-plus size women through fashion and truly bring joy to people’s lives. There’s nothing better than feeling like a million bucks in a great outfit.
