Today we’d like to introduce you to Oprah Stephens.
Oprah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started teaching myself how to shoot in 2014. My husband was military and a move was inevitable. Photography became my way to take my job with me and helped me to learn a new city and it’s people every time we moved.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
lol absolutely not a smooth road. Moving to a new city meant starting over constantly. It meant being more of an extrovert than I sometimes have the bandwidth for. I have 3 tiny humans my oldest was 2 when I started, so throw in pregnancy, postpartum, military moves, zero clientele it’s been interesting.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a branding and portrait photographer. I love working with small businesses who often wear all of the hats from accountant to social media manager like I do. I also work a lot with individual clients for milestone sessions and families during the holidays. My brand has evolved with me.. It’s been a beautiful journey and one that helps keep me committed to myself and in turn my clients. I love all of the amazing people my business has introduced me to., many who become real friends because I pour so much of myself into my sessions and my clients a connection is inevitable.
What are your plans for the future?
Right now I’m focusing on re-building and becoming consistent after life really kicked my ass over the last 12 months
