Hi Pat, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I really was inspired to do wedding ceremonies and relationship coaching. I began one wedding at a time, part-time, meeting couples at their location, whether it be home, park, church, or hall. I would craft the ceremony based on their love story. Sometimes, it would take an in-depth interview with the couple to get the story, but most of the time, most couples really understood what brought and kept them together, and it was easy to reflect that to their guests. I would always set up a time to rehearse and have a “pep rally” for the couple to get them and their bridal party in the right mood and frame of mind. The smiles always lasted, and I loved to see that. There was only one thing I noticed through the five years of doing these weddings it was location, location. Most couples did not have or were not satisfied with the location for the ceremony. Budget was always a concern and often had an impact on things that could be done to make it more memorable; that was when I started thinking how great it would be to have a location where couples could have a very small ceremony.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not been smooth. As a small business, finances was always an issue, space to properly do what needed to be done and how to support your lifestyle while you figure it out. Overall, it does feel that the Chapel was meant to be. We have survived economic downturns, covid, and weather-related emergencies, which can put us out of commission for extended periods of time.
