Patricia & Horacio , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The story of Texas School of Languages began with the fusion of the talents and experiences of both owners, Patricia and Horacio Pedraza.
Patricia brings experience in the bilingual education system within the Cypress District, while Horacio contributes his background in media, sales and marketing. Together, they pursued a dream by taking risks and identifying a need within the community.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Patricia and Horacio shared : “the journey has not been easy since we began as entrepreneurs in 2007. Meeting the requirements demanded by the system, surrounding ourselves with the right team, continuously enrolling new students, and retaining them while achieving strong results is a daily effort.

Since 2207, in Houston, Texas, our mission has been to help people break language barriers through high-quality, practical and accesible language education.
We are committed to empowering our students to communicate with confidence, expand their personal and professional opportunities, and improve their quality of life. Beyond learning, our school has become a welcoming space where students also find meaningful opportunities to socialize, building lasting connections, and become part of a supportive community that encourages growth and success.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
From our experience, we’ve learned that taking risks is essential for growth, both in life and in business.
As a married couple and business partners, we made the bold decision to leave our steady employee paychecks behind to pursue entrepreneurship. Three years into running our school we took another mayor step: we stopped renting and invested in our own property, marking an important milestone in our journey.
Our approach to risk is grounded in careful analysis – weighing the pros and cons before making any decisions. Success, we believe, comes from staying focused on your goals, maintaining discipline, and combining thoughtful planning, organization, and visualization.
