Community Highlights: Meet Randy Paredes of Fine Liners Tattoo Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Randy Paredes.

Hi Randy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, my name is Randy Paredes, I’m one of the resident artists at Fine Liners Tattoo Studio. My journey all started because of my buddy Eric Zulu. I didn’t have an artistic background from childhood like most artists, but being around someone who painted, drew and tattooed for a living really piqued my interest. Years later we opened a tattoo shop with a few other artists, Thanh, Elid, and Danny. Being around these artists was a huge eye opener. Around 2018 Danny Camilo started teaching me the basic fundamentals of drawing which fueled my artistic pursuit and laid the foundation of the artist I am today. Fast forward to (2020), after ALOT of late nights learning and practicing my artistic skills, I am able to tattoo professionally alongside my good friend Zulu and join Fine Liners Tattoo Studio. I enjoy tattooing a bit of everything that’s within my capabilities. The more I learn the more fun my craft becomes and it has me enjoying the beginning of my journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Can’t really say it went smoothly. You’re devoting all your time to the craft with no afterthought and it sounds good on paper, but my focus can feel a little tunnel vision and things get overlooked. COVID hindered my progress, but I have to say it made me realize how important it is not to sacrifice the time you have with family, which I did a lot prior. My brother passed in 2021, and losing him was a huge reality check to that and did not make things easy at all. To the point where I’d almost given up on art in general if not for my support system. You never get time back, so make time. For me, it’s still difficult to get it right, but knowing I’m making an effort is better than not trying at all.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Fine Liners Tattoo Studio?
