Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheika Petteway.
Hi Sheika, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey has always been rooted in a passion for helping people grow. Early in my career, I worked directly with children and families in the early childhood education field. As I gained experience, I realized that one of the greatest ways to impact children was by supporting and developing the educators who serve them every day.
That realization led me to found Elite Educational Enterprises, a professional development and training organization dedicated to informing, inspiring, and empowering early childhood educators and leaders. What started as a vision to provide high-quality training has grown into a nationally recognized organization that has trained more than 100,000 educators and partnered with over 200 organizations across the country.
Over the years, we have expanded our offerings to include CDA credential training, director credential programs, leadership development, CPR and first aid certification, online learning, conferences, and specialized training designed to strengthen the early childhood workforce. One of the milestones I am most proud of is earning IACET accreditation, which allows us to offer nationally recognized continuing education units (CEUs) and reinforces our commitment to excellence in professional development.
In addition to leading Elite Educational Enterprises, I serve in ministry alongside my husband and remain passionate about leadership development, mentorship, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. Throughout every stage of my journey, my mission has remained the same: to equip educators and leaders with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools they need to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, and communities.
Looking back, what began as a desire to help educators has evolved into a purpose-driven organization that continues to impact thousands of professionals each year. I am grateful for the journey and excited about what lies ahead as we continue to expand our reach and empower the next generation of educators and leaders.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape the leader and organization I am today.
Like many entrepreneurs, I started with a vision but limited resources. In the early years, I wore every hat imaginable—trainer, marketer, customer service representative, administrator, and business owner. Balancing the demands of building a business while serving clients at a high level often meant long days, late nights, and learning through trial and error.
One of the biggest challenges was scaling the organization. As demand for our training programs grew, I had to transition from doing everything myself to building systems, developing a team, and learning how to lead an organization rather than simply operate it. That shift required me to trust others, delegate responsibilities, and invest in processes that would support long-term growth.
The early childhood education field also presents unique challenges. Educators and child care programs often face funding limitations, staffing shortages, regulatory changes, and increasing expectations. We have worked hard to remain responsive to those needs while continuing to deliver high-quality professional development that makes a meaningful impact.
There were also moments of uncertainty, especially during periods of economic change and industry disruption. Like many business owners, I had to make difficult decisions, adapt quickly, and find new ways to serve our audience. Those experiences taught me the importance of resilience, innovation, and staying focused on our mission.
Looking back, I wouldn’t change the journey. The obstacles strengthened my faith, sharpened my leadership skills, and reinforced my commitment to serving educators. Every challenge became an opportunity to grow, and each lesson helped position Elite Educational Enterprises to have a greater impact on the educators, leaders, and organizations we serve today.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The name of my organization is Elite Educational Enterprises (E3), a nationally recognized professional development and training organization dedicated to informing, inspiring, and empowering early childhood educators and leaders.
For more than 15 years, we have specialized in providing high-quality training, credentialing programs, leadership development, and continuing education for child care professionals, directors, and early learning organizations. Our offerings include CDA Credential Training, Texas Director Credential Programs, CPR and First Aid certification, online professional development courses, leadership training, conferences, and customized organizational training solutions.
What sets Elite Educational Enterprises apart is our commitment to practical, actionable learning. We believe professional development should do more than fulfill a requirement—it should equip educators with strategies they can implement immediately to improve outcomes for children, families, and programs. Every training experience is designed to be engaging, relevant, and focused on real-world application.
We are especially proud of the impact our organization has made across the early childhood education community. To date, we have trained and inspired more than 100,000 educators and partnered with over 200 organizations nationwide. In addition, we are an IACET-Accredited Provider, allowing us to offer nationally recognized Continuing Education Units (CEUs), a distinction that reflects our commitment to excellence and quality in professional development.
Beyond training, our brand is built on service, leadership, and workforce development. We are passionate about helping educators grow their skills, helping directors become stronger leaders, and helping organizations build high-quality learning environments for children. Our mission is simple: when educators are equipped, confident, and supported, children thrive.
If there is one thing I want readers to know about Elite Educational Enterprises, it is that we are more than a training company—we are a partner in professional growth. Whether someone is just beginning their career in early childhood education or leading an entire organization, our goal is to provide the knowledge, tools, and encouragement they need to succeed and make a lasting impact.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
I would encourage readers to never underestimate the impact they can have through service, leadership, and a commitment to growth. Success is rarely the result of one big moment—it is built through consistent effort, continuous learning, and the willingness to keep moving forward even when challenges arise.
For those working in education, leadership, or entrepreneurship, remember that the work you do matters. The investments you make in people today create ripple effects that can influence families, communities, and future generations. Some of the most meaningful contributions we make are not always the most visible, but they often have the greatest long-term impact.
I am deeply grateful to the educators, leaders, clients, partners, and supporters who have been part of this journey. Their trust has allowed Elite Educational Enterprises to grow and expand our mission of informing, inspiring, and empowering others.
As we look to the future, I remain passionate about helping professionals reach their full potential, strengthening the early childhood workforce, and creating opportunities for learning and leadership development. My hope is that our story reminds others that with vision, perseverance, faith, and a heart for serving others, it is possible to build something that creates lasting impact far beyond yourself.
