Today we’d like to introduce you to Staci Childs.
Hi Staci, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia to Houston, Texas, I started out as a 4th and 5th grade Language Arts teacher. Now a criminal defense attorney and public speaker, and the CEO of Sunnyside Legal Clinic, a full service law firm, which strives to provide affordable legal services to individuals in need of family law help and criminal defense. In and out of the Courtroom, I’m a combination of sweetness, spunk, spice, and sass. I attended Hampton University, and I also run a non-profit called GirlTalk University, which strives to promote a positive self-image in girls and women.
I’m also an author of Her Beautiful Day, a children’s book written to encourage kids to be comfortable with who they are. I enjoy making people laugh hysterically, modeling, freestyle-rap battles, traveling, and playing with my puppy, Boseman.
I’m also a member of the NAACP, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Houston Bar Association, both the Houston and Atlanta Chapters of the Hampton Alumni Association, and The Downtown Group
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but I wouldn’t take back any moments of the journey. In the short time that we’ve been in business, I’ve seen many obstacles but overcome them as well.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Sunnyside Legal Clinic provides high-end legal services at afforable rates. Majority of Sunnyside’s cases are family and criminal defense cases, a lot of people have basic needs and no resources and escalation happens due to not being able to take care of it at the start.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Began with the end in mind always visualize yourself and your business at its peak and keep your thoughts positive even giving yourself daily affirmations. Once you have your long term goal in mind work towards it everyday even its for a few minute. Always find like-minded people that will be on your team.
