Community Highlights: Meet Valeria Collins of Events by Vale LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Valeria Collins.

Hi Valeria, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always loved planning trips, birthdays, dinners, honestly anything that needed structure and a creative touch. I’ve always been that Type A friend who finds joy in making things run smoothly and look beautiful.

But I actually didn’t start in the wedding world!
I studied business and worked in case management and disaster recovery after Hurricane Harvey, helping families rebuild and get back on their feet. That experience taught me patience, empathy, and how to stay calm no matter what’s happening, which, funny enough, are the exact same skills I use now as a wedding coordinator.
When I started thinking about what I wanted to do long-term, I knew it had to involve people, organization, and meaning but also something creative. A few people close to me mentioned wedding planning, and it instantly clicked. Once I stepped into that world, I fell in love with it the details, the emotions, the connections.

Being bilingual has also made such a difference in my journey. Houston is so diverse, and being able to connect with couples and families in both English and Spanish has been a huge part of creating trust and comfort throughout the process. I love being able to bridge that gap and make everyone feel included and understood.
Now I get to combine all of it: my love for planning, my business background, my experience helping people, and my bilingual roots, to create stress-free, intentional, and joy-filled wedding experiences.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest challenges has been being the first entrepreneur in my family and group of friends. Almost everyone in my family are engineers, so choosing a completely different path, and one that’s more creative and unpredictable, definitely felt scary at first.
There wasn’t really a roadmap to follow or anyone I could turn to who understood what it meant to build something from the ground up. Everything was trial and error, figuring out how to market myself, manage clients, and run a business while also trying to stay true to my vision.
There were moments of doubt, but also a lot of growth. I had to learn to trust my instincts and believe that even though my path looked different, it was still valid and worth pursuing. Now I look back and realize how much that experience shaped me, it taught me resilience, independence, and the importance of carving your own lane, even if no one around you has done it before.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business focuses on wedding coordination and planning; helping couples bring their vision to life while making the process as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. I specialize in creating weddings that feel personal, well-organized, and full of heart. I’m known for my calm energy on wedding days and my ability to make couples feel taken care of from start to finish.
What sets me apart is my approach, I’m very detail-oriented and structured (very Type A!), but I always lead with empathy. My goal is for couples and their families to actually enjoy the day instead of worrying about logistics. I want them to feel present, confident, and at peace knowing that everything is being handled behind the scenes.
Being bilingual has also played a big role in how I connect with my clients. Many of the weddings I coordinate bring together families who speak both English and Spanish, and being able to communicate with everyone effortlessly has been such a gift. It helps avoid misunderstandings, builds trust, and allows every guest to feel included.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the trust I’ve built with my couples. So many of them come to me stressed or unsure, and by the end, they’re glowing not just because of how beautiful everything turned out, but because they truly got to enjoy it and That’s the heart of my brand organization with intention, and planning with love.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice for anyone just starting out is that you don’t need to figure everything out on your own. When I first started, I felt like I had to have all the answers and do everything perfectly but the truth is, you learn as you go. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, seek mentorship, and connect with others who are a few steps ahead of you.
And most importantly, believe in yourself, even when things feel uncertain. There will be moments when you doubt your path, but confidence grows through consistency. Keep showing up, keep learning, and trust that every little step forward is building something bigger than you can see right now
