Thanks for sharing your story with us Andrea. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve always had a passion for being creative and modeling but it wasn’t until I discovered the gigantic beauty world on YouTube that I truly became inspired. I watched tutorial after tutorial and began posting more and more on Instagram. Social media has really become a great platform to express my creativity with makeup.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Life, in general, is full of obstacles, however, the key to overcoming challenges is how you decide to react when faced with adversity.
I know it can be a constant struggle to manuever social media especially with so many images of perfection out there but I’ve realized people are more drawn to authenticity. I can’t tell you how many times after I post an inspirational quote that I receive messages from women young and old that are so grateful for that particular post. Just keep in mind that we are all uniquely made, so stay true to what you’re passionate about and it will eventually pay off.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into D. Nicole Makeup story. Tell us more about the business.
I love doing makeup for others. Just seeing the look on women’s faces when I’m finished and knowing I was able to contribute to boosting their self-confidence and putting a smile on their face makes my day every time.
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
My mom for sure, because she exudes patience and knowledge and she also passed on her creative genes which I’m so grateful for.
My younger sister because she fearlessly goes after making her dreams a reality.
