Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Webster.
Led by a stirring in the heart of Gina Webster, Revive Gathering was established in April 2016, to see women experience the revival Jesus Christ can bring to any human heart. We held our first gathering at Rob Fleming Pavilion in April 2016 with a few hundred women and since then have reached thousands of women across 15 gatherings and community service opportunities.
What began as a prayer in Gina’s heart for God to use her personal story for His glory grew into the birth of Revive Gathering.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I have watched God move circumstances and people into place to make Revive Gathering happen. When something seemed impossible and when the odds seemed insurmountable God always proved faithful. Dependence on God is the lifeblood of Revive Gathering. Leading an organization can be messy and rocky but I have learned to accept my weaknesses, walk in my strengths, maintain a growth mindset and let leadership spill out from a deep abiding relationship with Jesus. Endurance is key and leads to strength. Giving up will never take you to the place God intends for you to go. Stay committed to why you started. Don’t resent the small things, do them well. Ask yourself, “what are unexplored opportunities in my community?”
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Revive Gathering story. Tell us more about the business.
Revive Gathering Ministries welcomes women with open arms and desires to connect women to Jesus and others by hosting community gatherings. We gather together corporately four times a year to worship the greatness of Jesus, pray, and point women to the Bible. These are free, fun evenings focused on Jesus for women of all generations. We gather in an open-air venue, under the night sky (The outdoor venue is weather permitting. We go to an indoor location if needed). Every gathering holds a different spark but central to each of our gatherings is live worship with a band consisting of members from local churches, teaching from the Bible and prayer.
What makes Revive Gathering unique is the breaking down of cultural, denominational and racial barriers that otherwise might keep women from coming alongside one another.
We believe the Bible holds the words of eternal life and Revive Gathering is founded upon Psalm 119:93 which states, “I will never forget your Word, for by it, I have been revived.” We point women to the Bible because we believe the pages contained in the Bible can revive and transform any life.
We gather seasonally – every January, April, July and October in The Woodlands, Texas.
The small Revive Team is led by Gina Webster and operates under the direction of a Board dedicated to the vision of Revive.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
Opportunities await women who will allow God to shine bright through their cracks and imperfections. In a culture of impressiveness and imagery it is important to remember that God uses cracked pots to display His greatness to a world in need of hope. There is a need and heightened opportunity for women to live like God’s power is greater than their past, to believe God’s greatness is greater than their problem and to treasure God’s Word and watch it revive their life. This is a woman God can use to change the world. This is my own personal story.
