Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Cooper.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a physician assistant working in a cardiovascular ICU who has a love for jewelry, clothes and spa products!
I’m originally from NY and moved to work with a prominent heart surgeon in Texas. My family lives in New York and California and I’m a bit of an orphan down here but have amazing friends who have become family.
I started with Lia Sophia jewelry and moved onto Posh spa products. I started a home boutique and later added clothing by Lularoe and nails by Color Street. All while keeping my full-time job as a PA and my second job in a long term care ICU.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road. Challenges are always there, including trying to balance my job and my businesses. After Harvey, I saw a big drop in my businesses due to people not being able to spend on non-essential items.
So many people I knew were personally affected. I started a clothing drive and donated a bunch of my LuLaRoe clothing to help out.
My advice would be to “eat the frog” the first thing of the day, which essentially means to do the hardest thing first, everything else won’t seem as hard after that.
Also, always keep your goal in mind so you keep yourself motivated.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Posh Chick Boutique story. Tell us more about the business.
I have a great passion for helping people. We get very sick people into our ICU and it makes me so proud to help them get better. I have great connections with my patients and families and feel that it makes such a difference.
With my businesses, I have met so many wonderful and interesting people! With Posh Chick Boutique, you can get a multitude of products that blend so well together. I love learning about our products and love to help people find exactly what they’re looking for.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
Women today can be or do anything we want! There is no limit to what we can do, it’s a very unique time! There are so many opportunities either in healthcare or the direct sales world that anyone can break into.
