Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Richardson.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
In 2010, when I received my first astrology reading, my interest was sparked and I was driven to develop my own daily astrological practice. I used the skills I had acquired from obtaining a degree in Journalism from UH to delve deeper into the studies of astrology.
I completed the Exploring Astrology Apprenticeship Program in 2017. By 2018, I accepted the dual responsibility of managing the program and teaching as an assistant to the program director. After achieving accreditation, I started an astrology-centered enterprise with my colleague Eliza Robertson: Kosmic Tonic.
Has it been a smooth road?
I’ll be honest, it’s been a bumpy road. However, our working relationship has grown stronger because of the importance we place on developing strong communication skills and sharing a compatible vision. One thing we’ve learned is you should have a flexible time line; things don’t always unfold as quickly as you want them to. My advice to other women is to dream big, but identify the concrete steps it will take to get there with a business plan.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into Kosmic Tonic story. Tell us more about it.
We use astrology and counseling skills to empower our clients to rebalance, connect with their unique life path and unlock their creative potential. All our consultations adhere to standards inspired by the American Psychology Association and the International Study for Astrological Research ethical guidelines. We place emphasis on creating a safe space and honoring our clients’ individual processes.
We are committed to returning a contribution to the field of astrology through research and a method we dubbed “astro-travel reporting,” which is the use of astrology techniques to form informational content from world travels.
We’re developing an online course with Kestrel Neathawk Licensed Professional Counselor, MA LPC. Counseling the Goddesses launches in the Spring of 2020. Our students will learn chart interpretation techniques with a focus on the goddess archetypes as well as counseling skills and how to apply these practices for themselves or their future clients.
For good reason, society often focuses more on the problems rather than the opportunities that exist, because the problems need to be solved. However, we’d probably also benefit from looking for and recognizing the opportunities that women are better positioned to capitalize on. Have you discovered such opportunities?
More than ever, women have an opportunity to support other women in their careers through social media, networking groups, and events. We believe women can do whatever they set their mind out to do, especially when they have a strong support system. We at Kosmic Tonic feel an increasing awareness for how important this is within our communities to help everyone achieve their goals. It’s happening every day, especially within the healing arts professions. It’s amazing and truly exciting to watch. Kosmic Tonic has grown with support from our friends, families, and colleagues, and most of them are women. Kosmic Tonic believes when one of us wins, it’s a win for everyone.
