Today we’d like to introduce you to Kashe’ Powell.
Kashe, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Hello, my name is Elizabeth Kashe Powell. I am a photographer, Graphic Designer, Web designer, Professional Jazz Vocalist, Yogi, and Published Author. In 2016 I started my business as a production business, including photography, graphic design, and web design. In 2019 I decided to transform it into an entertainment and wellness business, and that includes, live music, yoga, and events curated by yours truly, The beautiful things. Growing in the IndigoSunflower Garden are Kapturedbykash (photography), Jazz n’ Flow (yoga), Thrift Jam (Jam Session), and Jazz Therapy (Mental Health Awareness event). As I wrap up my bachelor’s Degree in December 2020 in Music Performance with a Minor in Jazz, I plan to further my studies in becoming a Music Therapist and open my own Music Therapy Facility. Music Heals and I want to bring more awareness to the Healing components that Jazz Music specifically has. My purpose on Mother Earth is to bring healing through Music and Movement while capturing a vision through an image.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. In 2015 I found myself in a dark place, but Yoga and going on my journey to self. Awareness allowed me to get up, dust myself off, and keep walking in light and love. Be yourself even in front of people and learn to love your shadow self, You don’t have any flaws those parts just need more growing and nurturing.

The IndigoSunflower is a growing and beautiful business that was started in 2016. My services include Photography, Graphic Design, Web design Consultations, and Live Music. I have 10+ years of experience with Photography, technology, and computers. My Clients include a local Artist and Theatre Company. Currently have an EP out “For You” Acapella Meditative Jazz, available on Soundcloud, and soon on all platforms. I am most proud of the satisfaction and quality that I provide. I do everything with a Musical Healing Twist.
What do you feel are the biggest barriers today to female leadership, in your industry or generally?
Remembering that there is a place for every woman, there is no need to compete, talk down, or discourage another woman, We each have our own gifts, As a women society likes to create false narratives about women, its time to put those shields down, fix each other’s crowns, and love.
