Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Prince.
Makeup Artist, Paige Prince was born on May 1 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She recalls, “the first time I put on lipstick was when six years old. There was nothing that could keep us apart. Despite my family’s best attempts, I loved lipstick!” Her mother was a beauty school Instructor, Paige spent the majority of her childhood being in a beauty shop and all around immersed in all things beauty. “I loved playing with my Barbie’s and putting makeup on the training head from the beauty shop. As I got older, I found myself learning tips and tricks from the ladies that work at the makeup counters inside of the mall,” says Prince. Upon arriving at Langston University, she started doing makeup for pageants. Paige says, “my friends would request me to do their makeup and I found a lot of joy in doing this.” In 2011, she relocated to Houston and began to think about the possibility of doing makeup full time. With over ten years of experience in customer service, Paige began working for Estee Lauder and eventually Sephora. “This time helped me define my love for this field. Shortly after Sephora, I transitioned to the world of education. I worked for the Graduate School at the University of Houston and ultimately working as a teacher for YES Prep Public Schools. Education is the best way to pour into our communities and I strive to be the best teacher I can be for my students, each day.” Paige is also currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Professional Communication and Digital Media at Texas Southern University.
Has it been a smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road for me. I do not have any relatives living in Houston. When I first arrived, I had to work three jobs to make enough for rent. There were always things that seemed to be in my way as I tried to start working for myself. I’ve always had to work a full-time job, as I’ve pursued my passions. Balancing all of my responsibilities can be difficult, but this past year has been so good to me. Overall, I think it’s essential to understand how imperative it is to never give up on yourself. My family has been very supportive. I am so grateful for my Mom, sister, brother, Patrick, and Antonio! I found a group of friends that became my family and support system. I am so thankful for their support and encouragement, I do not know where I would be without them. Keeping your heart light is fundamental. Forgiveness is key! Learn from any experience that makes you uncomfortable, it is prepping you for your future.

They are all original palettes that exude beauty and grace. Our collaboration is something that both the client and myself are proud of.
Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Yes. Watching my mother work multiple jobs to support me and my siblings have built a strong work ethic within me. I’ve always worked numerous jobs or worked overtime to support myself and my goals. I believe this is something that I rely on daily to ensure I am meeting expectations for work, school, and Palettes by Paige.
