Conversations with the Inspiring Shana Huff

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana Huff.

Shana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a Fitness Professional specializing in Corrective Exercise. After graduating from high school in 2004, I got married and became a mother, so the dream I always had of becoming a lawyer was no longer a priority. By 2009, I had gotten divorced, had two more children, re-married, and moved to Texas where I had no family. Having three small children (two in diapers) a husband who worked long hours, and no family around to help me, I became a stay at home Mom. Still wanting to pursue my dream, I started taking online classes in Criminal Justice but realized that it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I had gotten to a point where I didn’t know what I was doing with my life or who I was. My marriage was falling apart, I was overweight, struggling with depression, anxiety, and low self-confidence.

In 2015, I decided that I wanted to become a better healthier version of myself, so I found an amazing group of women who were uplifting, motivating and living the healthy lifestyle that I wanted. I joined their three day Clean Eating Challenge and lost 7lbs. This is where my passion for helping others live a healthy active lifestyle began. I joined their Community Fit Camp as a Coach, became a part-owner with these women of a Nutrition Club, and started taking on my own clients. I am now a Certified Personal Trainer with a Specialization in Corrective Exercise. I have lost over 30lbs since I began my fitness journey, competed in my very first Fitness Competition in March 2019, and I have helped many other women get results as well.

I always felt like I was meant to be successful, but I never thought it would be in Fitness. Teaching moms who are struggling with depression, anxiety, and low self-confidence how to live a healthy active lifestyle, by focusing on physical and mental fitness gives me life. I love what I do.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, it’s been the bumpiest road ever! Trying to raise kids, work on a marriage, and be an Entrepreneur has been full of fails and wins. A few of the things I struggled with were time management, communication and stepping out of my comfort zone; I still struggle with this. I also struggled with anxiety and depression which made it that much harder not to completely give up. I worried about so many things, talked myself out ideas, if my decisions were right, and if any of the things I was doing even mattered.

What I’ve come to realize is that all of the efforts is totally worth it. It is not going to be easy at all, but the wins that come after all of the fails are worth it. If you have a goal, and you can see the vision then stay focused and don’t give up.

What should we know about Shana Huff Fitness? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a Certified Personal Trainer with a Specialization in Corrective Exercise. I work with people of all ages and fitness levels who have a goal. I also work with those who have past injuries, ailments or pain.

I am most proud of being able to help other moms get results. I am known for my smile and the energy that I bring. All of my clients and people I meet always compliment my smile and my energy; it’s through the roof! My energy and the accountability that I bring sets me apart.

Looking back on your childhood, what experiences do you feel played an important role in shaping the person you grew up to be?
Starting a family at such a young age taught me how to be independent. I was on the reach team for two years in high school, but I never thought I’d have a career in fitness.
