Conversations with Adeola Odutola

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adeola Odutola.

Hi Adeola, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, I’ve always loved fashion. I was very invested in my look and how I expressed myself through my clothing. I created my brand with the aspiration to make all clothing that inspired me. While being a consumer, it was very difficult for me to find clothing that tailored to what I liked or fit me properly. With that being said, I finally sat down and got to work on bringing Crown of wealth to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
With every business, there will be struggles and my story isn’t any different. My journey has been far from smooth if I’m being honest. Even coming up with the perfect name for my brand wasn’t the easiest process. I wanted a name that was timeless and reflected luxury.

After coming up with the name Crown of Wealth (Yoruba translation of my first name Adeola), I then had to figure out what direction I wanted my brand to go. I knew I wanted luxury brand with quality products. The quality of my clothing is very important to me so I had to make sure my brand exemplified that. Being and entrepreneur is just hard, but when you’re passionate about something you make it work…the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Crown of Wealth provides a contemporary African sensibility to tailoring. With a variety of carefully selected textiles and materials, we consider with you what works best for your customizable needs, ultimately creating sustainable and reliable garments to last for years. This environmentally conscious choice to clothing, measured and made to your specificities of use, is for you to treasure and express your style.

I would like to say that I’m a cut above your average Nigerian clothier, born with a natural affinity for culture, fashion, and luxury suiting. My enthusiasm for suits dates back to my university days was influenced by the observation of my sister’s creative outlets and content community.

Today, Adeola, the Yoruba translation for Crown of Wealth is the name of my company, a name I’m very proud of, especially as I share it with my role model and hero, my father.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Creativity and passion are two characteristics that contribute heavily to my success. I feel as though my creative touch is unmatched. I think every single detail through because I know what I want my brand to represent. I had a very clear and precise understanding when created the brand of the values I wanted to show.
