Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Stergios.
Hi Alexandra , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story has always been driven by curiosity and a deep passion for storytelling.
I’ve had the opportunity to build my career covering some of the biggest sporting events in the world, including the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and the World Series. I’ve worked in media across the United States, particularly in Texas and California, as well as in Mexico, which has allowed me to develop a global and highly competitive perspective on journalism.
My work has focused heavily on sports, covering leagues such as Liga MX, MLS, NHL, MLB, and the NBA. Through television and on-the-ground reporting, I’ve learned to go beyond the game itself, focusing on the emotion, culture, and identity behind every story. I’ve also had the opportunity to interview world-class athletes like Justin Herbert, Canelo Álvarez, and Manny Pacquiao, experiences that have pushed me to elevate my storytelling and connect with audiences on a global scale.
But my journey has never been limited to sports. I’ve always been interested in people, their stories, their mindset, and how culture shapes who we are. That curiosity has taken me around the world, creating content in cities like London, Athens, Dubai, Madrid, and Mexico City, where I’ve been able to connect history, lifestyle, and modern storytelling in a way that resonates with a global audience.
At the same time, I’ve developed my entrepreneurial side. I created my brand, Mila, together with my business partner, a women’s workout clothing brand focused on empowerment, confidence, and an active lifestyle. The vision behind Mila is to create pieces that make women feel strong, confident, active, and empowered in their everyday lives, not just while working out but as part of their identity.
Building Mila has given me a completely different perspective beyond media, from branding and storytelling in fashion to understanding consumer behavior and building a community around a purpose-driven brand. It reinforced something I strongly believe in: whether in media or business, everything comes down to connection and authenticity.
Today, I see myself not just as a journalist, but as a storyteller and media personality. I’m currently developing new projects, including digital content and podcasts focused on positivity, sports, and culture, with the goal of building platforms that inspire, inform, and connect with audiences worldwide.
I believe the next generation of media and brands is not just about visibility, but about impact. It’s about creating experiences, telling meaningful stories, and building real connections. That’s exactly where I’m headed.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road but I believe that’s what shapes you the most.
Early in my career, one of the biggest challenges was stepping into a highly competitive industry, especially in sports media, where you’re often competing in a space that has traditionally been male-dominated. I was very young at the time, still studying, and I had to learn quickly, mature fast, and take on responsibilities earlier than most. That phase pushed me to develop discipline, confidence, and a strong work ethic.
Another important challenge was adapting to different cultures and work environments. Moving to the United States and working in media in places like Texas and California required a shift in mindset. The pace, expectations, and level of competition are different, so it was about learning how to adapt, stay focused, and understand how to operate at a higher level.
On the entrepreneurial side, building my brand Mila has come with its own set of challenges. The fashion and activewear space is extremely competitive, so finding a niche, building a strong identity, and truly connecting with the audience has been a constant learning process.
I also think one of the ongoing challenges in my career and in any industry today is staying relevant. The world is constantly evolving, especially with technology and digital platforms. You have to continuously learn, adapt, and understand new ways of communicating and connecting with people. Technology can be your greatest advantage if you know how to use it, or your biggest obstacle if you don’t.
Overall, every challenge has pushed me to grow, stay adaptable, and keep evolving both professionally and personally.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I see myself as a storyteller at the intersection of sports, culture, and global media.
My work is centered around telling stories that go beyond the surface whether it’s covering major sporting events, interviewing world-class athletes, or creating content around travel and culture. I specialize in bringing a deeper, more human perspective to sports, connecting the emotion, identity, and lifestyle behind the game.
Over the years, I’ve worked across different markets, including the United States and Mexico, and covered leagues like Liga MX, MLS, NHL, MLB, and the NBA. I’ve also had the opportunity to interview athletes such as Justin Herbert, Canelo Álvarez, and Manny Pacquiao, which has helped shape my ability to communicate with diverse audiences and operate at an international level.
What I’m most proud of is the versatility I’ve been able to build. I’m not limited to one format or one type of content — I’ve worked in television, digital media, and I’m now developing my own platforms, including podcasts focused on sports, mindset, and culture. At the same time, I’ve built my own brand, Mila, which reflects my entrepreneurial mindset and my interest in creating something that connects with people beyond media.
What sets me apart is my global perspective and my ability to adapt. I’ve experienced different cultures, industries, and audiences, and that allows me to tell stories in a way that feels authentic, relevant, and modern. I also understand that today, being in media is not just about reporting it’s about building a personal brand, creating meaningful content, and connecting directly with your audience.
For me, it’s about evolving constantly and staying ahead of where media and storytelling are going.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’ve been very fortunate to have strong support systems throughout my journey, and I truly believe that no one builds a career alone.
First and foremost, my family has played a fundamental role in everything I’ve done. They’ve always supported me unconditionally, no matter how ambitious or challenging my goals might seem. They’ve taught me to believe in myself, to trust my instincts, and while they’ve always given me honest advice, they’ve also respected my decisions. That balance has been incredibly important in helping me grow with confidence.
I’ve also had teachers and mentors who gave me the foundation I needed early on, providing guidance, knowledge, and the tools to begin building my career. I’m very grateful to them because they helped me develop not only professionally, but also personally.
Interestingly, some of the most impactful people in my journey have been those who challenged me the most. Throughout my career, I’ve encountered strong personalities, demanding environments, and moments of disagreement. At times, those situations weren’t easy, but they pushed me to grow, to strengthen my character, and to better understand how to navigate different perspectives, egos, and high-pressure situations.
Looking back, I see those experiences as essential. They shaped the way I think, work, and carry myself today. Even the difficult moments played a role in building resilience and clarity in who I am.
Lastly, I believe that having a strong personal life and being surrounded by people who genuinely support and care about you is key. Feeling grounded and supported outside of work allows you to perform at your best professionally.
In many ways, my journey is the result of all these influences, the support, the lessons, and even the challenges.
