Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelnelle “Angie” Davis.
Hi Angie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have a passion for entertaining and hosting! Nothing makes my heart smile than to see others happy and enjoying themselves. It all started out in the comfort of my home where I would have small gatherings and my guests would always ask me, are you setting up hookahs? At the time, I owned 3 industrial size hookahs.
No matter if I didn’t feel like setting them up I did so anyway! Entertaining came to a halt when Covid-19 hit. Months went on and friends and family would ask to borrow and even sometimes rent them, but of course, I didn’t charge them. At the beginning of 2021, I got the idea of starting my own hookah rental and sales business. So I invested in inventory and on April 18, 2021, Smokin’ Hookah, LLC was birthed. Smokin’ Hookah, LLC is a Mobile Hookah Service that started out catering to special events, private parties, and specializes in blending exotic Shisha blends and has now evolved into so much more.
While still trying to figure this thing out when sometimes every plan doesn’t work while in this pandemic. I had to get a little more creative with marketing and ask myself, how can I be beneficial and increase revenue in the meantime in-between time? So along came CBD products, Kratom, and Delta-8 where I dispense it medically and educate my customers on the positive benefits of the products. Meanwhile, I attend Pop-Up shops for face-to-face interaction and promoting my business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like others, my business journey has been filled with ups and downs and nothing comes overnight. I’ve learned to keep putting in the work, stay focused, and don’t lose my enthusiasm for the drive I have for my business.

I’m a woman that wears many hats. I worked in Corporate American for 17.5 years, sadly in 2020 that came to an end. I’m a Computer Engineer and Funeral Director and Embalmer by Degree but decided to add on and put a twist to thing and started Smokin’ Hookah, LLC. I’m also currently working on a few other projects that are still in the making.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me the most. I must say my family first, but people in general. I strive to be very instrumental in the lives of others and help bring out the best in them. I enjoy helping others in any way possible rather if it’s volunteering my services to do community work or just being a listening ear and trying to help one overcome their struggles.
