Today we’d like to introduce you to Angi Lewis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story really began with a love for people and the power of photography to change how someone sees themselves. What started as a creative outlet eventually grew into a business when I realized just how many professionals and entrepreneurs were struggling with images that didn’t truly represent them or their brand.
In the early years, I photographed just about everything, but I quickly recognized that my real passion—and talent—was in headshots and personal branding. I saw how a single photograph could shift someone’s confidence, open doors in their career, and elevate how their business was perceived. That realization shaped the direction of my studio.
Today, Angi Lewis Studios has become Houston’s premier portrait and headshot studio, and I’ve built it with a focus on client experience. From professional hair and makeup to guided posing and wardrobe consultation, every detail is designed to take the stress off my clients and make them feel empowered in front of the camera. My goal isn’t just to deliver beautiful images—it’s to create an experience that reminds people of their value and leaves them walking away with more confidence than they arrived with.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Things haven’t always been smooth sailing. When I first started, I had to figure out everything on my own—how to market, how to price, how to attract the right clients. There were moments where I felt overwhelmed. On top of that, I’ve had personal challenges along the way (including my husband’s cancer journey). There were many times when life threw curveballs that forced me to slow down.
But one of the hardest parts was learning that talent alone wasn’t enough. Running a studio requires wearing so many hats: artist, business owner, marketer, client concierge. Balancing all of that was overwhelming at times. But it also forced me to grow, to put systems in place, and to build a business that reflects the same level of professionalism and care I want my clients to experience.
Those struggles shaped me into not just a better photographer, but a stronger entrepreneur. They gave me empathy for the clients I work with—because just like them, I know what it feels like to step into something new, take risks, and invest in yourself.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in headshots and personal branding photography for professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who understand that their image is part of their brand. I’m known for creating a luxury-level experience that takes all the stress out of being photographed. From professional hair and makeup to wardrobe consultation and guided posing, my clients feel fully supported from the moment they walk through the door.
What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see in my clients. Many people come in nervous, unsure if they’ll like how they look in photos. But by the end of their session, they’re walking taller, smiling with confidence, and often saying, “That’s the best picture anyone has ever taken of me.” For me, it’s not just about creating beautiful images—it’s about helping people see themselves the way the world sees them: strong, capable, and worthy of being seen.
What sets me apart is the combination of artistry, psychology, and service. I don’t just take a picture—I study my client’s brand, listen to their story, and then design a session that reflects exactly who they are and where they’re going. My goal is to give them images that open doors, elevate their visibility, and make a lasting impression.
What does success mean to you?
For me, success isn’t just about numbers or recognition—it’s about impact. I define success by the way my work changes how someone feels about themselves and the confidence they carry into their business and life afterward. When a client tells me that their new headshots helped them land opportunities, elevate their brand, or simply see themselves in a new light, that’s success.
On a bigger level, success is also about building a business that reflects my values—excellence, service, and empowerment. I want every client who walks into my studio to feel cared for, seen, and celebrated. If I can create that kind of transformation while also providing for my family and growing a business I’m proud of, then I consider that success.
